I know it is possible to change the text like that in older-generation games like FFI to VI, as The Man knows, but I'm not sure about FFVIII. If you're lucky, the programmers have put all the sentences said in the game in a file somewhere on the CD. If you're unlucky, it's hard-coded and you'll somehow have to translate the playstation code back to the original which is, as far as I know, almost impossible.
I tried looking it up on Google, but no luck. You could try asking again on the forums at http://ngemu.com, they know (or should know) a lot more about PlayStation game mechanics than any one of us here do . |

If it's PC ported then it should have a txt. file somewhere in it when you open up the file. I'm guessing but I believe that would be the file that has the text in it that you can alter. Not a hundred percent on it. You'd probably still need a program.
