Default Disk drive not working.

Whenever I put in a disk in my drive whether it be software or a game is just isn't recognized at all, there's no reaction whatsoever. I use Windows Vista, basic home edition.

Suggestions?

Vista has a lot of hardware bugs in it. I'd recommend just switching back to XP until the fixes are all released, then upgrade. After all, there's not that many vista-only games out yet, and XP does just fine for everything else.

I only have 1 question, do you have Itunes installed on the computer? For some reason, Itunes has a problem with Vista where it interferes with the CD rom drivers. Uninstall Itunes if you have it and it should work perfectly again; same thing happened with my laptop.
