Just because the world is called Ivalice doesn't make it the same game. I didn't move my characters around as though they were on a chess board. Nor was the game really real time. It is in Active Dimension and the Active Time bar is still present.
Not to mention the same person who made FF Tactics also conceived FF XII so wouldn't it be logical that there are some connections and influences.
