The ring of death is STILL happening. For Christmas last year MS gave everyone a free 1 year warranty. That means the problem is STILL not fixed.
Thats also why this BBC is doing a report on this, because MS has not bothered to fix the problem. If you check the date on the top link, you'll see that its only from a few days ago
