Final Fantasy VII, it was a pre-owned copy and would you believe just as I was heading into the Northern Cave, towards Sephiroth, the last CD froze on me. I bought it again some weeks later off some guy in school for next to nothing. VII had been around for ages before I eventually picked it up. I remember seeing the TV ad for it, but I never really gave it much thought. I didn't even know what a RPG even was when I first played VII, it was my first. I think it's possibly one of the best games to introduce you to the RPG genre, along with Grandia I.
I have a hazy memory of one of my friends from primary school asking me to play Final Fantasy VII with him , but in terms of playing it in the school yard, as a game.
"You can be Cloud, and I'll be Barret. Now, were in the slums and we're looking for a dress for you to wear"
I hadn't a clue what this guy , who was from India, was talking about, but I did the best I could with his description. It all made so much sense a few years later.
