Kaylin was siting in the corner, waiting for the old man to come after her. She knew full well he had intended to hurt... or even kill her for the amulet... But something wasn't right. It was too quiet. She was almost going to move before it happened. She heard a rumble and then. *Wham!* the old tree came crashing through the mausoleum right behind her. She felt the stone come at her and was unable to scream. She ducked and was covered by the rubble.
When it all stopped, Kaylin winced as she felt light headed and coughed. She could hear pieces of stone falling every so often as the rain started to come in. She also heard foot steps and it was the old man! He started saying something, but Kaylin couldn't figure out what. She looked down and saw a small pool of blood. trying to touch her head, Kaylin felt that it was warm and sticky.
Looking at her hand afterwards told her it was blood. She was bleeding from the forehead. She winced again and laid back down. She couldn't feel one of her legs and her other arm was pinned beneath her. She was stuck under the rubble and didn't want to cry out. It hurt. But she couldn't trust anyone in her life since the ones she did, died a long time ago... both times to be exact. Who knew? Maybe this old man was a sorcerer of the new King Kanroth? She couldn't tell... the only thing she could do was stay alive... and quiet...
