A Few Good Things
Salvation
As I walk through the golden halls of Heaven,
I come upon the throne of Him whose number is seven.
Fear rolls over me as all is revealed.
It is to His awesome power and love that I yield.
Here sits the one who died for my soul’s salvation,
And has united man from every man’s nation.
A choir of angels lifts up in one voice
The name of Him we came to by choice.
Their silver wings and immense splendor
Fight them a contest to which they humbly surrender.
For none are as magnificent as He
Because with each hammer fall, He sent us all free.
Death was a powerful opponent,
But He acted as our only proponent,
And to our knees we now fall
To the one who always has known all.
Glory to God in the highest!
Who at the judgment seat is unbiased.
We all come to the end of our journey
Where His blood acts as our only attorney.
We are young and old, sinner and priest,
For whom He defeats that great Beast.
The serpent is crushed beneath His heel,
And man is taken back to His ideal.
