This *is* the original skin.
As it's been running reliably, I decided I may as well make it the default forum skin now.

Hmm... okay, it appears that activating this skin as the default skin is what caused the news to disappear in the first place. For now, if you want to use the original skin, just use this link:

I'll see if I can figure out what's causing this problem in the meantime.
