i agree with FFKing, while V is a great game, I think its one of the weakest in the series, though not quite the weakest (that "honour" goes to XI and XII, though both those games are quite good) the villian is dull, and dosen't hold up against Golbez of IV, and it gets boring from having the same characters all the time. The Job system has it's merits, being very customisable, and at the expense of it's characters, as with out pre-set jobs it makes it incredibly hard to tell an interesting back ground story, while in IV we asked "why did Cecil become a dark knight?" or " Why can Rydia summon?" These questions wouldn't be answered (plus the story wouldn't make sense) if you used the Job system of V, making Bartz, Lenna, Faris, galuf and krile have cliche stories (with the exception of Galuf and krile) if you get what I'm trying to get at

Though Faris has an interesting story at the the start but she becomes mute after the middle of the game, and only has a few throw away lines. (bit like Basch in XII) The music is good, but it just isn't as "hummable" as the previous 4 games. then theres the ending. The beautiful and intericate ending of IV was amazing, but that isn't repeated here. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the game, and my rantings probably don't make any sense, but its the entry I least enjoyed (after XI and XII)
