One thing that just occurred to me is that it was after he rescued Elone that he decided to join up with the resistance faction and stop Adel. I think if he had known that Raine was pregnant he wouldn't have done so. He isn't the type of character to walk away from his wife and child in my opinion. So I would say he didn't know she was pregnant when he left.

No, I don't think he knew about that. Also, they never talk about it when they are together that time with Ellone (some ruined village, can't remember it's name) if I my memory serves me right..
