i dont think Square enix needs to remake ff7 to stay popular with the following generation, they just need to stay faithful to the masses who fuel this franchise and although theres a huge demand for FF7 to be remade (my favourite FF) i dont think it quite equals those looking for a newer test rather than recycled memories of people who didnt actually love the game quite like us and who'll probably put the controller down half way and wonder exactly why they have to wait another two years to buy a new FF because Square Enix put the die hard FF7 fans before FF fans as a whole.[/quote]"

No Final Fantasy have been even close to having the impact of FFVII, and its just my opinion that each and every final fantasy after VII were successfull in most ways due to VII. What I've seen from XIII so far was mind blowing, something I expected from X, and hopefully after the release of XIII we can at last have the Final Fantasy to compare the next 5 too.
