I cannot truly pick a favorite book but... if I had to then it would probably be this old book:

Le Chevalier de la Sorcière
(The Knight of the Sorceress)

Also known as

Le Chevalier de Sorcière / Le Sorcière Chevalier
(The Sorceress Knight)

Good old French Book, picked it up a while ago sadly it doesn't have a cover so I don't remember who the author was but it is VERY good and it's overall plot made me think of Laguna's film in Final Fantasy VIII of the same name.

I'm actually reading too many books at the same time to be bothered to list them all so basically, I'd have to say Le Chevalier de la Sorcière / Le Chevalier de Sorcière / Le Sorcière Chevalier would be my favorite book.
