Re: Final Fantasy: Dissidia Japanese Trailer 2
Garland, they did admit that the names for the majority of characters in the translations we got were wrong in some parts but as the Japanese language consisting of (the current one) Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji they are missing some letters and/or sounds that we have in English and other translations that still make use of the basic written and spoken forms of English for the pronunciation.
However the names have been based off multiple things and I do know about Firion's name - has had about or more than three translation versions. Such as Frionel, Frioniel, Firion, Firiona, Firionel, Firionel and a fair few others I've seen in some various translations.
So really any of the mistranslations could be correct for the versions depending on what language the game is purchased in so with any of the "Katakana sounding" names to be different or wrong would be weird as Gilgamesh is a borrowed name which explains the Girugamesh part as they were trying to stick to the original pronunciation (because of their lack of "L" and another letter or two that is made up in their Current Japanese language) even though Gilgamesh has been mistranslated a few times...
Spira, since the gap is too large they are most likely going to put those characters in a secret characters or leave them unannounced for a while until the game is absolutely complete.

Damn SE having good manga...
I'm not on as often on my laptop, due to it being damaged by my parents. Have done quick repairs, but I'm mainly online via my PSP Slim.
