If I had to buy one of the consoles now, I'd still go with the PS3 due to the amount of bad-hardware/glitchy consoles over here (not just the pre-ordered ones but more than half of the bricks' over here just will not work properly at all) and other than the current Patch/Firmware issue on the PS3 (the update that crashed (also known as "Bricked") many consoles) I have not heard of any issues with the console - even with the limited amount of the first releases we received (apparently, ours cannot read Blu-Ray properly because "America needed parts" *Rolls eyes* but they still do play Blu-Ray even though we were told they wouldn't) over here. But that is just my opinion.

But I am glad that an interview with Kitase and Hashimoto revealed that they are still planning on having Versus XIII still a world-wide PS3 Exclusive, but with their recent announcement of XIII being multi-platform... (It wouldn't hurt them to have Star Ocean IV: The Last Hope on PS3 even though they have said that they have no plans for it, which is what they said about XIII being on the brick.... )

But they refused to say why they chose to end the exclusive contract in exchange for a multi-platform contract. From the looks and sounds of it Hashimoto said that their relationship with Microsoft was just fairly recent but they are not announcing if it will feature any online capabilities as that would just put a damper on gamers and/or fans in the whole if in the end they changed their minds at the last minute and they would not want another Final Fantasy X issue.

[Also, why I call the X-Box and X-Box 360 console "the Brick" or the "BoS" is only a pure reference to the many issues and glitched versions we have received over here and other complaints I have heard or seen about it in actual action which has influenced me not to buy either of the dammed things.]
I wouldn't say it's doing bad, it may not be outperforming other consoles by large margins but besides Japan the xbox360 is doing well worldwide. I didn't understand your reasons for not liking the idea of the game going to the 360 as well (bold part), may be particular to folks in Australia?! MS has mostly fixed the issues the consoles were having with the new chips, don't if they have arrived there yet but even so a 3 year warranty will cover it for free if anything was to happen, still kind of a hassle though and I can see how one would want to avoid it anyways but still not a reason for this game to stay away from this console.

From your comments I think you have some kind of personal agenda with Microsoft, you sound quite biased, excuse me if I'm wrong. From my perspective, I couldn't care less what company does what, as long as the games I like are in any console I may end up with, the more consoles the more choices. I may actually have to choose one console this time around because university is too expensive, costs add up so that's why the 360 looks like a better alternative at the moment, with the difference I can buy a book Apart from that I'm also a programmer and I've been doing some XNA programming in Windows so that also makes the 360 an attractive option since I can port any game I make to the 360 with no extra code. I like the PS3 as well and if they were the same price I'd probably choose the PS3 over the 360 because of the free wireless adapter in the ps3. For ps3 owners these news doesn't hinder you in anyway, you still get to enjoy the game so that's why I'm baffled, it seems to me this is more a complaint because something good is happening to MS rather than specific to the game itself.
