Default Dissidia Site Update

Finally! Real news! The official Dissidia site has been updated. Cloud and Sephiroth have been added to the characters section, and a new video featuring them has been added to the movies section. One-winged angel FTW!!! Additionally, there is a secret video set to be revealed in the next few days. The main page has also been updated with more CGI clips from the trailer, including a few new seconds from most scenes!

Dissidia Site

Also, a four page article interviewing several key staff members of Dissidia has been published in Dengeki. Interview

According to ChaoticCosmos, main points are:

"Tidus refers to Firion as 'Wild Rose,'"

"When you press the start button, various 2D and 3D characters will explain the menu."

"The Tonberry summon is a must-see when using Jecht, who can combo with it if you time the button input right."

"If you look at the top of the screen you can see the affects your accessories have, with various icons to indicate the conditions."

"Firion uses all 8 of the weapon types from his original game, including bare-handed fighting. The Onion Knight's attacks automatically switch up during Ex-Mode."

"Kuja can activate two seperate combos depending upon how the analog stick is used, and while in Ex-Mode he is surrounded by a ring of magic that protects him as he moves and jumps."

"One gimmick of the game is that the Brave Pool can be affected by the stages."

"Jecht uses no magic and brawls instead, while a character like Golbez has a control scheme more like what you would expect of a boss character."

"We made Cloud really easy to use since he's popular. We took a lot of time on him, right up until the end."

A good portion of the rest of the interview covered the concepts for the 20 characters.

"Bartz: To differentiate him from the Onion Knight, we went came to the decision to make him an FFV-style "Mime."

"Terra: She is the easiest magic user to play with. You only have to balance the distance with her attacks."

"Jecht: His attacks are pulled from several types of fighting. If you execute the combos with perfect timing, you can eliminate his pauses between attacks."

"Ex-Death: He moves slow since he's a tree (laughs). But you can compensate for his movement. Unique amongst the characters, he can counter-attack an opponent if he guards against their attacks. He's a character that requires a lot of practice. But if you mastered him would he be invincible?"

"Gobez: We went to great lengths with his concept. In his Ex-Mode, we were wanted the reference with the Shadow Dragon."

"Tidus: Tidus was the only character who from the beginning we knew would have the addition of dodging. Still though, the Staff debated the pros and cons of this concept a great deal.

"Emperor: He leaves a trail of mines and magic behind as he traverses the stage. Since he gradually whittles away at his opponent indirectly, he is a tough character to use."

"Firion: He uses all of the equipment from the original game. Another unique feature is that he remains stationary when attacking. Firion and the Emperor share the same home stage of Pandemonium."

"Sephiroth: As another popular character like Cloud, we wanted him to be easy to use. However, he requires a more professional touch. His sword has a long reach which can be used to great advantage."

For those who care, someone at FF Compilations took the liberty of ripping the character art from the site. PNG files, w00t!
