Default The After Years yields a site update... and censorship issues.

Another Bi-monthly update on the North American Site of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years for Nintendo WiiWare.

FINAL FANTASY IV: The After Years | SQUARE ENIX

More character profiles and storylines have been added, including that of Edward's and Porom's. Leaving only the last chapter The Crystals as well as the last character the hooded man, left to be updated. An educated guess estimates that these expansions will be ready to download some time in mid August. Heheh, wait until you see what Porom's wear...ing?

On a further note, apparently the developers of the games North American release have made some "alterations" in the game's original artwork! Both Rydia and Porom's outfits have been digitally colorised to fill in certain parts which apparently are to "Revealing" to Western audiences! Though certain news broadcasters say these changes are an improvement, as an artist I am appalled at the lengths that Nintendo has gone to censor art! I am sure you all know of the great Censorship campaign of the early 90's? Words like "Holy" were changed to "Pearl", Celes' failed suicide attempt was explained as "a way to have fun" digital sprite images were edited to reveal less skin in Amano's designs... This is the exact same thing! If not worse that they are changing original sketches! I thought Nintendo saw the errors of their ways when they re signed their business agreement with Square Enix back in the decade, and learned to be more faithful to the game's original intent. Guess I was wrong...
