Help old Trav
|
|
Ok, this site is taking years to finish because I do it in my spare time and I have lots of other sites to be making that are more important than my spare time.
I am a coder I am not a person who thinks of user interests
So I need help with:
- Good Content
- Better Navigation Links
- User Functionality - What would a user want to do - What would you want to see on an MGS site?
- I have user login and registration sorted, but what would you want to get from being a member.
- Forums arent a problem
So thats that. I am not doing RSS so forget that.
If you feel some layout is better changed then feel free. If someone puts forth a large contribution... and I mean LARGE then I'll put them into partnership in this site. I just never get the time to finish it im affraid.

I wouldn't mind being a partner on this with you, but I'm not a fan of the layout.

It has a lot of strong points and weak points, its obviously much more impressive than anything I could create, but I'm one picky **** hahah.
I like the header and the small details. I don't like any of the buttons or the big empty space, looks out of place (the buttons on the header are far too massive, and the ones of the side just don't look right.
There should be some kind of colour contrasts somewhere too, the content area shouldn't be the same shade of green.

Yeha, im not to proud of the navigation links, especially as its image. I'd prefer it to be text linked over a background image.
The header links, again I cant think what to put in them im stumped. Maybe registration?
The big space, again no idea what to fill it with.
This is what happens you train to make pre-packaged sites, leave no ideas for yourself
and I think FFEx is just a tad bit more impressive than mine Dave :P + i'm liking the partnership

I'm not a big fan of MGS, but you can give you tips and such. Personally, I'm a software developer, so graphic design isn't exactly my strong point either, but if you need anything from SEO, HCI, Web 2.0 technologies, I wouldn't mind. It's not like college is all that occupying.

Ban jak for multi-account rly.
I won't be much help on a design front, but I know how to run a large content filled site pretty well.
Hey Trav wanna work on a Game specific - vBulletin CMS together? I need to make one for a chain of other sites I wanna make, but I need a partner lol. Could use it for this site too.

If you don't mind it being a slow process(meaning, I've got other site work to do) I can help you make it look pretty.
