The book is amazing, but extremely difficult to read due to the language it's written in. In fact, the only book I can think of that's comparable in that regard is Heinlein's The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress. A work of genius though. I'm not sure I'd say it's more brutal than the film though; the final chapter, which was omitted from the film, [spoiler]shows Alex moving away from the life of violence he once embodied[/spoiler].
But yeah, amazing film too, one of Kubrick's best for sure. |
