I love VI but I wouldn't say it is the best. It has very good points like the storyline and everything, and it's a perfect game to me but I wouldn't say it was the best. I'm planning on getting the GBA version when it comes out, then I'd have it on three systems. =p

I love VI it is simply one of the truly great FF games which earns its reputation by being good rather then just having the name FF.

I liked the fact that there was no real main character as it ment you could play as anyone you liked without being forced into one persons perspective except at the odd points relevant to the story.

Out of all the characters Celes was my favorite without doubt. She was far more stylish then Terra and her Runic ability ment death to mages when used right.

I was not too keen on Kefka being too much of an idiot and lacking any real character. Ultross though never ceased to amuse me, the idiot would just not quit.

If there's any FF game they ought to remake on PS3 it's FFVI.

FFVI is indeed an excellent game, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the best FF game. That title goes to FFVII.
FFVI is definitely a very close second though.

Final Fantasy VI is my second favorite FF game. I really like the story line and all the characters in it. Terra is my second favorite FF character ever.

FFVI - while my 5th favorite FF - is definatly the 2nd best FF game of all time.

its just flawless...the characters the storyline, the music - everythings perfect ^_^

Tis just that FFVII does it all a bit better :P

I'd say a very good game, almost the best, but not quite. I could play it a half a dozen times (playing it now in fact :O) but not so much that I'm gonna say the best. Great story, great characters, great gameplay....but just dosen't have the orgasm factor is all.

I remember getting it as 3, i was 14 and had just been released from the hospital with chicken herpes the day it came out in the us, ma dukes had it waiting for me at home. I was obsessed.

I still kinda am, cause i'm in the middle of a game now...I remember not liking 7's gameplay as much when i first played it, but of course its gonna seem better. It was released on a more powerful platform and spanned 3 discs, but i bet if 6 happened to be made for ps instead of snes (Super Famicon) there would be zero competition. Though lacking tech, 6 was superior.

i liked that every magic learned became permanent, and the learn system was what 9 was based on. But in addition to that there were special skills each character had, and they were the only ones....GREAT GAME

Technically, the system that IX uses was based on VI.
But hey, who's counting?
Ahem...

Ode to Awsomeness
Superior plotline to those before it.
Bugs galore overflow it.
Setzer is Bad*ss,
Kefka's insane,
So everyone sit down and Play it.

My apologies. I accept full responsability for this and claim no excuse. I obviously misread Vinny's post and am clearly at fault. I hope that you will all find it in your hearts not to forgive me, as this was a blunder inexcusable by any means and is unworthy of your heartfelt tokens of charity, but instead deserves severe chastisement

You are too kind...

Back On Topic...

The characters in FFVI each have a speciality that only they can do. But at the same time, they can line up magic spells that can make them more what you want them to be. And you always have the spells without a limit on how many you can have. The gameplay is far superior to those before it and some of those after it. Mainly the ones that don't have the Active Time Battle system. That is the Final Fantasy Treademark, no matter what anybody else says.

The thing that really got me was the fact that the party fails to save the world the first time around...the whole plot was pretty thick, and disturbing. You've got one of the most memorable villiams, and every major character kinda has his own trademark. Decent translation too, I thought. My only major gripe with the game was keeping everyone equiped with a good balance, especially when you have 14 pcs, and if you're anything like me constantly swithing the party around.
