smurfs say smurf as a racial stereo-type insulting the color of their skin just as square-enix thought it so necessary to keep up with the already existing black stereotype by making barret a victim of the "ebonic plague". Red XIII can talk because he's not just a dog like in sector seven, he's actually a, eh, cosmo canyonin? wakka talks like an islander because they thought they needed to add a canadian somewhere into the mix and finally, tidus is such an idiot because he is clueless to te situation around him because he was, after all, taken into spira with no warning whatsoever...plus at that point in the series they diedn't have anyone faggy enough...and then came vaan
