Which was the best of the two jobs for Cecil?

I liked him as a dark Knight, his Dark attack was pretty useful, and his strength was not bad, but I think he was better as a Paladin. His strength was higher (as far as I can tell) and he had the added benefit of basic white magic, which came in very helpful for the times you didn't have Rosa in your party.

I preferred the Dark Knight job, but mostly for the appearance. I understand why it was necessary for the story to turn him into a Paladin and in some instances the Paladin job came in much more useful (especially when Rosa kept dying in combat due to utter lack of HP)

Agreed. Dark Knight did look cooler, but Paladin was more handy. Though Cecil's Dark attack was pretty ace.

Cecil altogether was a flaming poofter. Actually most of the characters in the game were, with few exceptions. But to answer the question I did like him better as the dark knight.

I think he was better as paldin but if he could have learned something more as Dark Knight he probobly would have been better

Dark knight FTW, like u have to ask me.... lol. First of all its my favorite Job in FF all together, second of all cecils character wouldnt have enough depth without it. Third of all i wish that cecil could willingly switch between DK and Palidan, as long as dark knight equipment could be more upgradable, aswell as new abilities like low level dark magic, or some later DK abilities like Charon

I liked both. But he could have used a few more moves in both.. I know cover is a good ability.. but man, It didn't come in handy that much. Plus I agree with Cecil's dark attack when he was a dark knight. It was cool.

I just got sick of it when Cecil was really powerful and strong in Dark Knight, then when he turns into a Paladin he is one of your weakest characters. But in the end he gains his strength again.

It came as a suprise to me when Cecil changed into a paladin, and how he went back to lvl. 1, but as a character its obviously important that Cecil changed, so he could go on his path of redemption. i love Final fantasy IV

I loved his appearence as a dark knight, but overall I preferred Cecil as a paladin. Following his transformation, he may be weak as hell, but once levelled up, he kicks ass. Equip him with Excalibur and nothing can stand in your way... Except for maybe Zeromus, but even he's not that much of a challenge....
