Default FFV - Favourite job combos

Which jobs do you think create the best party?

I usually go for the Lancer, White mage, Black Mage and Ninja. But other times I go with Knight, white Mage, Hunter and Geomancer as the hunter and Geomancer jobs (imo) make the game harder because they're so ****

Oh lord. I am totally out of practise with this game. I can barely even remember what the job classes are. :O

It might be dull, you can't go far wrong with the White Mage / Black Mage / Monk / Knight combo. Old, but still reliable.

I'm not entirely sure. It's been so long since I played a game where I didn't master as many jobs as possible as early on as possible that my memory of what strategies I used is rather cloudy. I pretty much always had one white mage and one black mage, though.

i personally get the highest white magic as soon as possible then switch to black and max that...that way i wont be limited to red magic later when i switch to a different job. Then i have a monk as my attacker and i level him up just until he learns barefist, then switch him to berserker...my third character does nothing until i get the summoner and time mage jobs from the second crystal, i alternate with every job level up so i can keep my berserker nice and fast and my party nice and healthy with sylph summons. nothing too special about my fourth character except that he can do anything the others do because he's a mime...what works for me won't always work for you though.

Bartz was a Paladin for the majority of the game (GBA version) until I unlocked the Gladiator.

My final jobs were:

Bartz - Gladiator
Lenna - Summoner (with White Mage abilities)
(insert girls name here) - Chemist (with Black Mage abilities)
Faris - Ninja (with Time Mage abilities)

Garuf was a Monk most of the time until he died with Black Mage abilities.

At the end of the day I had all my characters as normal so they could equip ribbons and other such useful equipment. However I found Butz/Bartz worked well having mastered the Knight (specifically the Double-Handed Sword ability) and the Monk's Counter ability so he could deal massive damage frequently. Similarly I had Lenna mastering the White Mage and Time Mage jobs so she could use Cure3, Life2, Meteo and the like, Galuf (& Cara/Krile) having mastered the Black and White Mage disciplines, and finally Faris with Summoner and Ninja capabilities to quickly cast Golem if appropriate and then dual-wield weapons for physical damage.

Essentially there are three potential healers, all are capable of physical and three of magical attacks.
