I've recently obtained alot of Final Fantasies this christmas.
I started Final Fantasy VI after trying out my new ds, and such... And I couldn't stop playing it. I'm impressed beyond impressed. This game has a depth I havn't seen before. Every part of the game gives characters more life. Strago and his youth. Shadow and his dreams. Cyan and his struggles. Locke and his guilt. Terra and her confusion. Celes and her depression. and even more. This game has surpassed all my expectations for a game like this and it went beyond what I thought possible. And I'm not even finished yet. I still got one Kefka's Tower to go. And I truly do think... Final Fantasy 6 is the best. And regardless I know it's a useless topic to be putting here so if you wanna close it close it. But it could be used as a discussion for FF6 ya know. XD Now that i got my opinon out XD

You're right, FFVI has got a lot of depth, and you're absolutely correct in pointing out how each character has a good amount of development. FFVI gives each and every character their own portion of the story and could almost subsequently be split up into chapters by character. Not a lot of other games, especially not the Final Fantasy series, operates like that. I think more attention is paid to the side stories in FFVI than to the actual main driving force, or it's at least much more balanced than in the other games. Probably the polar opposite of this would be FFVIII, in which you really don't know a lot about characters like Irvine, Zell, Selphia, or how they feel about things. They hardly have anything else going on with them besides following Squall around. So yeah, FFVI is an incredibly balanced game. I don't blame you for liking it so much. I think you'll appreciate the final part of the game, it's one of the best of all the FF series.

Your right, it is the only game that focuses on ALL the characters, not just one like Squall or Cloud....The ending was great as well ^^ Oh, I want to hug you *Hugs Honest Abel tightly till he/she dies* PLAT IT! |

I'm a big fan of VI for a lot of the same reason. The other reason being the story in general. The heroes don't save the world, and some madman who fancies himself God takes control. Four re-group and go on a quest to find their old allies through the ruin and kill God as a large unit. I like.
It also had a dynamic storyline for it's time, where some choices would affect the game from that point forward, two different cutscenes would occur for different things for the same result, or you get a choice of which order to play through the story from certain characters' point of view. It makes the game more engaging, it's not just a linear plot. You know what I love to do? Flash this image to those people who are super hardcore fans of VII claiming it to be the best ever while they have not played VI...in a lot of cases lacking the attention span to sit through something with such "****ty graphics": ![]() It angers them but they can't say anything about it because they have never played VI. ^^ lol Aebrax's post is funny. Of course we all know that's just something he made there and it's so true about how some of the fanboys and girls of VII won't touch any of the classics because it doesn't have good graphics.
