If a remake of Final Fantasy VII was announced (for the PS3), how would you feel about it? What would you like to be included/removed/changed if this did happen?
For me, what I would like to be changed is;
Any other suggestions?

If they made a remake of Final Fantasy VII or the PS3 I would also suggest everything you stated above except "hints towards the plots of other parts of the compilation". I would rather prefer it if Square keeps the storyline as orignal as possible. With that said FFVIII and FFIX also deserve a remake as well if Square decides it is time to reincanate one of their overhyped games for more money...it's business.

I'd like to see a remake of VIII aswell, since it's my second fave, but I'm not so sure about IX. I think the Playstation grpahics add to its charm. I don't know. Might just be me,

I think it could stand on its own, definately, but just small hints, or to clear up any plot holes. However, if they didn't include that, then I'd still be glad. Hey, I'd have a new and improved FFVII in my hands! I wouldn't be complaining.

thanks ^_^
I think that the entire FFVII experience (apart from bad translation) should be upgraded. Plot holes are part of the game now, to remove them would be to change FFVII too much. imo of course. and besides, knowing fandom, people always locate the flaws and then go away and write fan-fic to explain why that happened. That's what happens in the Doctor Who fan community anyways xD |

A remake of FF:VII would be nice. It would be better detailed, probably a few new little twists and turns. I also agree with having yuffie and vincent as compulsory characters. It would be a nice little thing they did for the fans. Although I say they should do FFVIII as a remake.

if they remade ffVII for the ps3 i would faint. man......but probably not gonna happen. They should remake all the ps1 final fantasys and put them on the psp in one big collectors edition.

I wouldn't want them to remake this, I would prefer if SE instead spent the money on something new since all that'll happen in a remake is updated graphics, soundtrack, better side quests and hopefully an upgraded battle system. It just won't be worth it for me.
One of the important things about RPGs in general (for me anyway) is the story and in a remake they can't change too much so plot twists and stuff will be known beforehand, this means it won't have the same impact and so it won't have the same feeling as you would have first time round. |

Bleh. I'm not a big fan of FFVII, but if they were to remake it I hope they'd fix the translation. Because as it stands it was just... awful. I get the feeling some of the plot holes weren't even in the Japanese version, but just resulted due to poor translation.
I'd kind of like to see them fix the plot holes as well, or at least make it clearer to people who can't be arsed to do/don't know about all the sidequests what's really going on with Cloud and Zack's past and Sephiroth in the Northern Crater. The fact that they left some of the most important narrative in the game in a little-visited sidequest in the Shinra Mansion just seems... sloppy to me. |

And it would definately be a good idea to explain things a little better, as it can prove quite confusing. But that's kind of the charm of the original. There was a lot of furore over the Tech Demo, so everyone started spreading rumours about a full remake. But they are just rumours. I'd wait for proper confirmation. If it was, it would be in my hand in no time. I can't go wihtout anything Final Fantasy. I'm having to save up every little penny to afford FF XII (I haven't got a job yet, hehe).

Erm... He's stuck in the Northern Crater the entire time. I'm assuming you mean the fake Sephiroth the party's hunting, tho'. Which I've always thought was meant to be Jenova in disguise (remember, she's a shapeshifter), but apparently, even with all the Compilation releases, it's still not entirely clear what's going on there.

I don't really want a FFVII remake because I fear of what Square would do to it, like show Rufus escaping the Shinra building when WEAPON attacks, other **** that was in the other compilation games and wasn't even mentioned in FFVII. So basically if a remake were to be made, I wouldn't want them to change the plot, as it was fine as is. Also for them to touch up the music and make it more orchestrated, improve the graphics by making them like AC's or FFXII or XIII's, and add some voice actors to. And maybe include Before Crisis, but as something like on the PSP or DS. That would never happen, but it'd sure be great. I understand BC has online play, so the DS and PSP should be more than capable of supporting BC. |

with all the success the gba is having with all the other ff remakes, i wont be suprised to see a ff7 remake for gba or ds. Acually, now that i think about it though, all the gba remakes were so called "better" than the originals. i dont think that a ds or gba version could be better than the ps1 version.
if it does get remade for the ps3, i hope the graphics, gameplay, music clearity, and overall look and feel of the game really pushes the ps3 to it's limits to make it stand out as a next gen game..and not make ff7 a remake failure |

I've always gone with the idea that it was Jenova as well, I thought that the reason why this was happening was that she was leading Cloud and the group along so that they would get the Black Materia.
