I hated x-2, regretted buying it completely.
x, on the otherhand was good, and i was expecting a good followup. Maybe this prooves that you shouldn't carry a FF on. Except, 7 has done well, with DoC , Imo. :P Err, Yeah, characters, all girls, soo, boring. Always happy. Annnd, A little confusing too. But then again, which Final Fanasy isn't, a little. |

I would change blitz, and maybe have more playable characters like some of the other Gullwings or later on like Nooj, Baralei or Gippal, also maybe let you into the farplane in uadosalam, it would have been cooler for yuna to go there and see Auron, Jecht, Tidus and her parents, instead of just being in there and having to fight, also bringing back the sheregrid system and for the good ending and perfect ending use the final fantasy 10 besaid and zanarkand theme instead of the one from FFx-2 even though I like the epilouge theme.

Always Changing
|
I would change the blitball make it more like Final Fantasy X. Then I might want to actually play blitball on X-2 I would also change the way they do fighting on X-2. I would make it more like X. Overall I didn't like it that much good thing I didn't waste money buying it. I just borowed it.

I guess i'm pretty alone here when I say that it was an "ok" game.
It's definiately a nice addition to the FF series - even though it does have its quirks. It is too "girly" - revolving around 3 girls changing clothes, having 'accessories' (in the truest form of the word, being girls like accessories like braceltes, pearl necklaces, chokers, etc..) and having a battle system around changing clothes. However, the latter was actually a nice addition to the 'new' feature. Sure, it was kinda dull changing clothes from one dress-sphere to another (because it's girly) but it was a nice touch, rather than just having the same system as FFX, where u can just learn abilities and everyone looks the same and gets the same things. It was nice that Yuna could be a gunner and Rikku could be a Berserker and look like a bull or w/e - I think SE had a nice little touch of "variety" there. I would change, like other ppl mentioned, more of the explorable areas. There should have been more areas that were new, seeing as though they had new characters and a new story. There were 2-3 places in 1-2 areas that had additional scenes of terrain, like the bevelle labyrinth and that dungeon over there in the Thunder Plains, etc. I'd like to change a little more about the mission system too. I think they did pretty good w/ the data that u had to do so-n-so to actually get 100% of game completion, but they should have had a more open-opened approach, like their endings. If u didn't get 100%, u saw a different ending than if u got 100%. Well, what if u wanted to not do a mission in Guadosalam or not stop the Ronso from wanting to kill their sorry asses. Depending on ur actions, it should have changed the course of the game to where the Ronso's woulda killed the Guados or at least driven them even out of Guado salam and if u allied urself w/ the Ronso, perhaps u get a new Ronso hero? to play with? The essence of the 'side-missions' too, because they weren't really side-missions. Most of them u had to do, to get 100%. If you just go through the game, proceeding through the parts of the story u had to complete, to get to the end, u'd get about 60-70% completion. The side-missions should have actually been side-mission, yielding optional weapons, optional dress-spheres or accessories etc.. I'd also alter the toughness of the game. Having tougher boss battles, not that some of them weren't hard. THe rest of the game should have been a little tougher and when u actually go to one of the areas thats like 5 stars (meaning real hard) - they should actually be hard. Lastly, of course, I would change the music. It sucked in this one, so bad. It was so nice and elegant in FFX, but this one - it was too.. i dunno... gay?! At least they did stick w/ other FF related information, myths, and general gameplay. You still had other abilities we've come to learn and love. Like Holy, BM, WM, theif, armor-break, chocobos, special dress-spheres, had to fight the aeons again, classic monsters (Tonberry!)

I have seen the ending for 10, and seen the weaker ending for X-2, but have yet to see the perfect-ending for X-2. I thought I got the regular ending, besides perhaps a different ending if u ally urself w/ New Yevon, instead of the Machina faction or the Youth League. I heard from a friend of mine, after he beat it using the strategy guide, that Tidus actually comes back during the perfect ending.. or something of that nature.
Since that, I tried using the strategy guide to get 100%, and still messed up in 1-2 places >< causing me not to get 100% or get the Mascot dress-spere. PHOOEY! P.S. I also think Blitzball in X-2 should've been more like Blitz in X, it was way too confusing in X-2

Oh, where do I begin? There are so many things I would change about this game. Spoilers ahead for those who haven't played/beaten the game:
First and foremost, there would be no random concerts/singing for no reason. I honestly saw no point in those scenes other then an excuse to flash pretty graphics with pretty music. Granted, the 1000 Words concert was touching, but I assure you, it's sensitivity did not come from the Yuna singing. I didn't like the posing. Or the dresspheres. Those would have to go, simply because it's too Powerpuff Girls/Charlie's Angels/Sailor Moon for me. If anything, I would probably change it to the point where each girl had at least three different classes to choose from, and instead of changing costumes, they would just change weapons/abilities. Nothing flashy/Sailor Moon transformation or anything. Just a nice sound effect and a different weapon. Sphere hunting was interesting, and so were the Gullwings. They're a keeper. And speaking of "keeping", Yuna and Rikku would be keeping their clothes on. I'm sorry, but Rikku looked like an underaged prostitute in 90% of her costumes and brought a whole new definition to the term "dumb blonde". She and Yuna would get a new costume (I'm aware that it would be difficult to climb mountains and run after the bad guys when you're wearing an ankle-length semi-kimono), but they would look more "adventurous" and less "stripper". Character developement is a must. I'm aware that Yuna did become more confident in Final Fantasy X-2, but she went from a sweet, smart summoner to Rinoa. And that's never a good thing to become. I would prefer it if Yuna kept most of the mystery that she had in Final Fantasy X, and then gradually become more confident and open with people without being annoying. Rikku needed some major character developement too. She went from cute to "kill me". I'd prefer it if she had a more mature role. Still cute and upbeat and happy, but able to get straight to business and be serious without coming off as whiny or bratty in the process. The weapons they weilded would have the spirits of the warriors who weld them before Yuna, Rikku and Paine did. This would be where they would get their strength to Overdrive. There would definately be a sidequest concerning those spirits as well. Interesting bosses. Shuyin was okay, but not in the least bit interesting. And LeBlanc and her gang would never, ever exist. Seymour probably would not make a comeback, but I'm sure his memory would haunt Yuna. There would probably be a sidequest concerning that too. The minor/secondary characters from the first game (Cid, Issaru, Luzzu/Gatta, Shelinda, the Chocobo knights, etc) would have larger roles in the second game. They might join the party, or do something more important then just making a cameo appearance. [SPOILERS] One thing that they forgot in FFX-2: There was absolutely no connection between Shuyin and Tidus other then the fact that they looked similiar. I would have definately touched up on that one. Speaking of Tidus, he would NOT be revived at the end of the game. He's gone, and he stays gone. just like Aeris. Part of Yuna's character developement would be able to go on living without him, and being okay with that. Perhaps even move on with someone else rather then looking for a way to revive him.[/SPOILERS] Ther are probably many other things I would change about this game and I'll be sure to post them if more come to mind. |
