Default How about an FFVI remake?

We get redone FFI&II, 3D FFIII and IV, FF Tactics with better cutscenes, why not VI? Square's afraid of destroying VII, but maybe they'll be cool with a FFVI for the PSP or PS3.

There was a so called "upgraded" version on the gba a while ago, but I don't see it happening. I think I remember reading somewhere that Square is done with remakes. FF 1-6 wise anyways. On a personal note though, FF6 was one of my favs, but I don't think a remake of it would be enough for me to buy it.

There was a whole debaucle with FFIII/VI. Whichever one is the more widely known and played (the one with Locke as the main character), I've played.

Never been able to get my hands on a copy of the other.

Besides Anthologies, Square-Enix has done a Gameboy Advance port of VI. I dont think they produced enough copies of the game, but popular retailers should still have ample amount of shipments. Wal-Mart and Target (at least around me) have stock with a MSRP of $29.99 like the other installments.

This came out probably around the fall of last year. It's the exact port of the SNES cut, only I think they added new monsters and I think an extra dungeon. Writing about this makes me want to go out and purchase a copy.

I don't know where you read that. But you apparently missed the news that FF6 is getting an FFIII-style overhaul and being released on the DS. It was announced back in May.

You know what, that's a peice of crap if it's on the DS. It would be a far better game on the PSP.

Oh, well yea that's good news then. I'll add that to the list of games I'm waiting for on the DS. (Zelda, Ninga gaiden, FF tatics, and some more.)

You're referring to FF4, not FF6. They're already in production of the title, but there are no plans of doing VI on the DS...as of right now.

That's a relief that FF6 won't be DS bound. It would be really cool if it were PS3 bound...

Ultimately, I mean, yeah, remakes would be sweet, but they risk ruining their original feel.

Besides, they should stop making remakes and look to the future, and make new original FF titles and continue down the numbered title road.

I'm quite certain its a matter of when, not if..

considering how SE has gone ahead with 3 & 4 on the DS, I'd think they'd logically follow up with 5 & 6 as well.. tho (hopefully) on the PSP which has more memory and better technical capability to support the 3D transition.

Give it time, I think any announcement of the sort will come after FFIV DS releases in Japan (Dec 07).. so most likely the 1st major game event of 2008, or a special press release.
