Seriously, this **** is ridiculous. Whether it be the ads or what the load time is sucking majorly. Fix it now or I'll hunt down and kill whoever I have to.

yes.. very annoying.. no wonder activity is getting worse.. It's even pissing me off royally.. and it takes alot to get me steamed... Especially when the site is not loading for 20 mins at a time..

I have my damn pop up blocker on, and when I get to the main page of the site, I always get a message on that 2 pop ups were blocked, and always one didn't get blocked, because it is too fast the PuB.

You should see it on a dial up connection, it's just horrible. After waiting a few minutes for each page of this place to load, I get some message popping up about some script error.

And when the site is slow on my laptop which uses a high speed connection, you know something is wrong. I don't remember it being like this when it first opened. Someone fix it.

Hmm, you go to any page on the site and all you are ads, ads and more ads. You have to scroll down half the page to get to the content. Seriously. Are we trying to attract new members or not -_-

I'd say too many mods and the shoutbox does this. the ads have little influence.

The refresh rate for the shoutbox needs to be more than 2-4 seconds

the ads certainly aren't helping the traffic, though. People hate pop-up ads, and justifiably so. And many people have asked for them to be disabled for registered members.

Don't you admins/head admins/Jay have the power to do so? Or does only Ralph have the power to do that?

And apparenty ads can have some influence on load times. Talking to someone on this they say bandwidth takes a part in how fast a site loads and that ads drain bandwidth. Of course, there are a **** load of mods on here and considering how graphic the skin and layout is, on top of the ads, its no wonder the place loads slowly.

Exactly. Ralph purchased this site for big bux, so it isn't like we have any say so in many things. He allows us to mess with the forums, but we cannot...

Check server Loads/Tweak Server
Remove Mods (without permission)
Change settings (with permissions)
Change/Tweak ads (this is a BIG no no)
Etc

Just cause we are tech peps, doesnt mean we have full power to do what we want. Jay has the most power, but still, Ralph can get pissed and remove us all if he wanted to.

So, i'll see what I can do, but without troubleshooting powers, it is hard to know what is doing this to the site/forums. It could be ads, or it could be mods, etc.

And therein lies the problem. Ralph is stubborn and intent on doing things his way. He purchased the site to make a profit, as anyone would, but is failing to see the obvious signs that things need to be changed and improved.

It's an extremely short-sighted view for him to take, regardless, because if he doesn't provide his site with the necessary time investment, people are going to get fed up and leave, and then the traffic that's bringing in his advertising revenues will vanish. However, capitalism does not generally encourage anything other than short-sighted viewpoints, so I can't say that I'm particularly surprised.
