New addition?

I suggest we add a section for the .Hack franchise. It is huge, almost as big of not bigger than the FF, forum wise. It has seven games in the series, the first four are one story, last three are another. The very last has yet to be released in America. So, if you have any questions about it, I am an expert on the first story. I'm still working on the second story. Adding that here I believe would bring in a bigger traffic slow, and maybe introduce new people fro mthe .Hack franchise into the FF Franchise and vise versa. I hope my suggestion works!

two problems kinda present themselves in that. One, .hack isn't SE based but Capcom based and though we are an FF site, FF comes from SE so we would have to change the design for the site and would have to add general capcom along with the general SE stuff.

The second being the domain for the site, we'd have to change the name of the site to incorporate new users. This isn't discouraging you to make threads about the games in general gaming or make a club based around it, but the site has been centered around a specific community.

If there were enough discussion for the franchise here I suppose it could be possible to make forums for them as well, but they'd have to demonstrate a lot of activity over an extended period of time. As it is, a lot of people think we have too many forums here already.

Agreed. If a mass amount of threads over a period of time are made, and have actual discussion going on showing a good majority of forum is interested in the series, it might be possible for sections to be added in. Until then, do as Rob says. Make a club, or start up some discussion.

I do have to say that .Hack by my observation woul not make too much activity at all. I mean what would you talk about? I don't think there'd be enough things to talk about and it would be a waste after a week. Maybe just maybe it could be a sub-forum. But what would make more activity would probably be a general Capcom sub-forum.

there could be several discussions held on .hack, which storyline was better, favorite character, did you get the secret weapons, secret areas, etc etc etc. The main problem is that we're not a capcom specific community. We could absorb one in if they were eager though.

Theres alot you can talk about. Hwo much do you know of the franchise? It's not just the game,s they also have the t.v. series, use to be an online version, theres many games out, each containing alot of secrets, theres the yet to be released final game, use to have a card game, they have like four different manga's. stuff like that.

I think, for now, making a few discussion threads (which story was better, which game is your favourite, etc etc) in the general gaming section. If it receives enough activity it'll earn its own right to be a subforum.

Well, there you adress the major problem.

What does the majority of the current community population here know about .hack? We are an FF community afterall. I join with the above, a subforum would prolly be the best option.

So far, it has been established how few people know about .hack on here, so creating a sub-forum just because you regard the game highly doesn't seem applicable at the moment. That is at least until someone else and a few others come forward (mentioning the series, starting threads and such).

Start some threads [advertising] the brand then, if all goes well, some people might be willing to go deeper. But I doubt you'd get a Capcom sub-forum since; 1. This place revolves around the Square franchise, and 2. That would be more appropriate in a site for gaming in general. Though, I wouldn't rule it out totally.

I can see your objective was to bring more activity to the forum but, on another site, someone tried to start a Resident Evil sub-forum. 5 threads at most, then went to hell. If you can't count on people noticing .hack conferences here, then it'll probably mean you having to highlight it, even if it means putting a link in your sig.

BTW Guys, I wasn't aware of this title until recently, so here is some info: .hack (video game series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

It's not really lack of knowledge as much as it lack of interest. If there were a lot of people on this forum that were big fans of the .hack series, I'm sure there'd be quite a few threads made with some good discussion arising. That clearly isn't the case though.

Hydro there nothing there that I said that I don't know what I'm talking about. I can't believe you'd say that and say it's a discrase how 1/4 of my posts are in the game section.

And there is no need for a vote. Pretty much anyone who had anything to say about this topic has posted their thought, and from what I can gather, its pretty decided its unneeded until the majority of the shows a good interest in it.

But if a mod feels like making a poll to vote on this, be my guest.

Considering only mods and admins have the power to add polls, yes. Unless the original thread starter has the power to do this, which I'm really not sure if they do or not.
