Ok while I was at work today bored out of my mind of making jewelry I thought, "Hey what if FFE were to have something to make people post more often on here and log into FFE more! Maybe it could be done the same way that the store that I work at gets more customers by sending out emails to all of it's subscribers (for us it would be members of FFE) telling them like once a month to remember to post in here because this is just sucha cool place to post!" But then I though of how would we make those people post more often then I thought of this great idea of what if we were to have like once every one or two months a double post day where instead of you getting one post count for every post you make you get two. But then that seemed a little too radical so I thought what if we were to bring it down a noch to maybe double post count in a certain (probably inactive) forum to make more posts
go there and for more people to amke more activity in there! Now these are only ideas that maybe our lovely staff could think of? What do you think? |

I don't know about the double-post thing. However sending out an e-mail would be a good Idea. I think so many people sign up for, so many things, alot probably forgot they signed up for FFE. Maybe a reminder e-mail would help raise activity.

I are you hittin' the pipe again, Larsa!?
In all seriousness, I'm glad you're throwing these ideas out there, but frankly, we shouldn't be so desperate for posts that we have to turn to "double-post day" and "if you post, we'll give you 10 dollars" day. Other, more successful forums, so far as I know, are able to operate just fine, with a good level of activity and a steady in-flux of new members without resorting to these kind of cheap tactics. Also, you spelled notch wrong in your post. ![]()

I always spell something wrong lol. But it would dtill be a way of bringing in members who haven't posted since the day they joined a long time ago or never posted because they forgot about it.

Well, ultimately, it's up to the big guys, but I can't really say I'm on board.

I've never heard of the double post thing on a forum before,so I don't even know if it's possible. And I can't say I much like the idea personally, tbh.
As for the emails, maybe sending an email to registered members once would be ok, but if you're sending them once a month or so they're just gonna get fed up with having their email inbox filled with crap they don't want, and then they won't want to come back anyway. |

Or you could install one of those silly text based RPG games on the forum and the devellopment is tied to your e-penis.
Ahem, postcount. I for one have more newsletters in my inbox than I could read in a months time, so I really cba to get even more. |

Things like this is always considered, but there are reasons why they never make it out of "consideration" status.
Sending mass emails over that could work, but it could also not work. And what I mean, is the "bad" could over do the "benefit" of it. Meaning, it could make people mad at FEE for such a thing (thus yell at us) or so. However, risks are fun, so maybe we should. i could send out a mass email, but not sure how the server will like that. Also, we might need something ot attract people, we don't really have the best atmosphere yet. |
