Final Fantasy Extreme Rules and Conditions
LAST UPDATED ON THE FIRST OF FEBRUARY, TWO-THOUSAND AND SEVEN
(conditions always subject to change)

Hey everyone.

Since we just reopened our forums and are running under a new administration, a lot of things have changed. We wanted to preserve this "clean slate" concept that we've been spouting off about, so we decided that it was necessary to create a thread with all of our collective ideals of rules and conditions.

Instead of boring you with a long and drawn out speech, let's cut to the chase:

Spamming
We all enjoy a good spamfest every now and again. However, we've dedicated a whole forum to that guilty pleasure of yours, so why bog down the rest of the conversations that transpire throughout the forums?

By disrupting the natural flow of conversation that occurs throughout the forums, it can truly destroy the quality and atmosphere of a forum. This is a scenario that we try to avoid by giving you access to a forum that promotes spam, and keeps it limited to that section.

Spam can be defined as off-topic posts, thread hijacking, double posts, "three letter posts", and just about any post that doesn't contribute to a conversation. To clarify the phrase "three letter posts," that means any post that solely contains three letter acronym phrases such as "lol," "wtf," "qft," or "ftw." They are not acceptable forms of posting.

Advertising
Simply put, we hate advertisements. We entertain the concept of members being able to shamelessly plug their own websites, and we give you the means to do so within this forum.

However, advertising anywhere else will earn you a warning. Also, joining simply to advertise will earn you an immediate IP ban, regardless of your intent or relation to our community. I cannot stress this enough; if you have a website that you want people to join or help you out with, please keep it to Warjilis Trade City within the Fort Zeakden forum.

Also, PM advertising is also not tolerated and merits an IP ban.

Flaming
Flaming is publicly attacking another member of the boards. We also have a section dedicated to letting loose and getting something off your chest, but if we witness flaming occuring in other portions of the community, we will issue warnings sans sympathy. Flaming is unacceptable and by no means do we tolerate it outside of it's section.

Trolling
Simply put, trolling is when a member attempts to provoke someone else into breaking forum guidelines and regulations. It's not cool, and frankly, it creates drama that is completely unnecessary. If someone's causing problems, trust the staff to be able to pick up on that and handle it ourselves. Trolling is a warnable offense, so if you feel as though you're being provoked needlessly, inform us by clicking the Report button (the button has an exclamation point in it). We will be the judge as to whether or not disciplinary procedures are necessary.
Offensive Material
Posts that contain offensive material aren't tolerated at FF Extreme. We're trying to reach a wide variety of audiences, and we'd like to avoid offending our members. Offensive content includes nudity, pornography, hentai, yaoi, racially, sexually, religiously, and ethnically insensitive remarks. We will warn members based on the content found in signatures, posts, and shouts.

Artwork that contains any nudity must be tagged with a [Mature] tag to imply it's explicit nature. All nudity must be tasteful and not vulgar, so be aware of your work and content.

Plagiarism
Plagiarism isn't cool and sadly, it could cause legal troubles for FFE. Posting plagiarized content on FFE without crediting the actual owner of the material will result in a mandatory warning, if not a permanent ban. This is a topic that is not up for discussion.

Thread Necromancy
Don't revive dead threads. Create a new thread at your disposal, but a few months down the line, try to avoid reviving something that has already been laid to rest. Thread necromancy isn't that serious, but it's irritating. We'll kindly ask you once or twice to stop, but we may warn you if we see multiple offenses of said act.

Multiple Accounts
We don't tolerate multiple registrations here. There are multiple reasons why we don't allow this, mostly due to security. If we find that you've registered an additional account, we will instantly ban the duplicate account and warn you on your main account. If you are banned and you create another account, you will be permanently IP banned from the forums. This is a very serious issue.

Drama
I think it's safe to say that drama is unavoidable on any successful forums community. Thus, we won't get in the way of your drama as long as it reaches a resolution and it's for a worthy cause. If you're fighting with someone and it's needless and irrelevant to the topic at hand, rest assured, you will receive a warning. Threads and posts containing dramatic behavior will be split and moved into the Nibelheim Battlegrounds, where you can resume your teary-eyed diatribe to your opponent in there.

Challenging a Warning
All warnings are documented and saved within our warning system we have installed. Every member has the right to challenge a warning that has been given to them. Challenged warnings will be brought to the staff for deliberation as to whether or not it will be revoked. From there, we will determine whether or not we will take action on your challenge. To challenge a warning, PM a staff member other than the person who warned you to avoid bias. Our staffers are obligated to bring this challenge forward and not ignore it or handle it themselves. If you feel like your request is being neglected, please PM an administrator with proof of a sent warning, and we will handle it from there.

Thanks for reading through all of the legalities and mumbo jumbo. Keep in mind that these are always up for your reference, and that upon signing up, you are acknowledging that you accept these terms of behavior and conduct. We will enforce these rules reasonably, in hopes that you will handle yourselves in the same regard.

Thanks, guys!
