Questions about FFE

I used to be apart of a forum that went under the same name a long time ago. (about 2002/2003)

I was wondering what had happened to that old site and how did it become the FFE of today. Thanks for your help!

A lot of stuff happened, in 2004 to 2005 - it became overrun with trolls and a lot of the FF fan-sites died out then, over time it came back and then some people disagreed with who would be appointed as crew members.

There was a lot of flaming/trolling and harassment going on back then, the layout changed, people left, the site was attacked, more people left, the entire site was eventually rolled back to end the attack and the site was down for quite some time. A lot of people had to reregister as their accounts had been deleted.

The layout changed again, and the site changed hands a few times - until it eventually hit it's current admin. If you were used to the old ways of trolling FFE, then you will be surprised by the calm nowadays and if you behave as they did in the old FFE then we will give out infractions or bans if required.

I'm fairly certain that the 1999-2003 was a good period on FFE, so you probably just missed going on here when it all hit the fan.

Wow. I do remember the site being down after I tried to visit. It dissapeared and I figured it died.

Now that it's back on, I just wanted to check.


That's kinda sad though. I missed most of the trolling it seems, and I remember the good old days. I also made so many friends here. Oh well, memories shall be memories.

Understandable.

That's good that you missed the plunge into hell period.

Not really, everyone left when it all hit the fan - however a few older members do check in every so often. The current FFE is a lot like the FFE you remember, the members are nice and share a common passion for the series.

I don't remember much about the staff at the time, but I do remember Roth being the admin. (or something similar to that)

Why don't you start by goin' to the New beginning and properly introducing yourself it'll be cool to know why you came and whatcha like to do

Well, me and Lamont were probably around when you were. We were probably just new users at the time and thus off to the side a bit. Now I think that us and XxViVixX are the oldest active members here.

You may catch glimpses of Jak or The Man every now and then, though probably not in a positive manner. ( if you knew them)
But I do vaguely recall a time before them with a quickchat feature, and I think all those old users moved on to other sites a long time ago, like KainHighwind.

Hey, do you remember when the main site used to make the "Boobeeboobeedoo" sound everytime your mouse scrolled over a Roman Numeral on the front page?

That's pretty much what Garland said. Not many older users are active anymore and generally, that's a good thing in a few cases.

And I remember when it did that! I also remember when there was a music player on the pages at a point.

I remember the sound from long before I had an account...I sorta made fun of it >.< just cause it sounded like it was gonna say "you now have a virus".

I really liked the old site. Was fun as ever. Had a lot of distractions, idiots to debate with, smarties to debate with, lots and lots of spam games to play, and even an arcade! Man those were the days.

I remember the old old site. It was white I think, but yeah, I remember AND LOVED the roman numerals that bleeped, and then when they changed the site I was like "hey, not bleepy buttons?"

This site feels like a city than has been hit by a bomb, and we are the last few survivors living on

I've been around for a while too, though I never used to post.
