How do you think Final Fantasy should end?

To me, after SE is finally ready to put FF to rest, they need to make a big finale like no other game has ever witnessed.

For instance, if Final Fantasy XV (15) was to be their final FF game to end the series, they should do it like this... (I'm not saying it should end there by the way.)

So if it was FFXV, then it should be based on a central character as usual.

There are stories and myths of heroes going on a quest, saving the world, overcoming great odds and defeating evil. There are 15 myths, one for every mainstream FF this one.

The character is so inspired, and is longing for a quest of his own. And the opportunity falls in his lap. How the story should go, I'm not sure, but there are 15 crystals that were formed from the courageous deeds played out by the heroes in the myths. (note) one for each FF.

These crystals have lost their light because these stories of old have all been lost and forgotten. The hero must go on a journey to light them again.

Each crystal when lit shows the story past heroes. the 7'th crystal shows the efforts of Cloud and his friends fighting against Sephiroth. The 9'th crystal is of Zidane and Gaia and Terra and Kuja....and so forth. Each crystal and each myth represents the valiant stories of the past 14 Final Fantasies, but the 15th crystal he does not know how to light. And in the end, he discovers it is his journey that becomes a story, the final story, and powers the last crystal.

Rough ideas mainly. The plots in between I have no idea. But how do you feel FF should end?

Err... but yeah. Not crazy about the "final" Final Fantasy attempting to encompass every other FF. It kills the whole formula of the series. Every numbered FF has been it's own story independent of the others (except for X-2, and look how that mess turned out...).

FF will never end, it will become what Mario is to Nintendo, only worse. At least Mario and friends appear in all the totally unrelated Mario games (golf, hoops, ddr etc) and all the games have the same nintendo feel. FF on the other hand has no continuing features in any of the games so SE can pretty much just tack on the FF name to anything they want. FF: Accounting anyone?

It can't end. It's become so much more than just a game frachise to a lot of people. I'm more worried about the Metal Gear series to be honest, I mean Metal Gear is finite...DAMN! The Final Fantasy series however will continue as long as the Earth is slightly round.

squall should then kill the both of them, at which point Astos the King of Dark Elves teams up with ultimicia and destroys the universe. This should all happen within the first 3 min of the game after which the game turns into the original donkey kong. beating 100 concecutive levels (without saving) shold birng back one single room of the universe, but that room is a gas station bathroom, so dirty that the main character kills himself.

the room should then implode. then God walks in out of nowhere and presses the reset button for the universe.. END

Well, if anyone took the time to notice, there were 13 little elders telling stories about the crystals in the GBA remake of FF1. All the FFs are related btw, not for the sole fact of the hero's journey but even the summons, even names are related between games.

*cough* the XIIIs might be the last games *cough*

My theory about the end will be that, since the first 4 warriors of light tore open a rift in time (hey, it says it) which is why the story of them was forgotten and sorta split up into fragments, then the story of the last FF would be to simply piece together time and let evil win. (Garland was the best boss, he created an endless cycle of life for himself) Letting evil win would sorta reset the time, and all would be right with the world...except that it was filled with evil, it would create a paradox that would be cool for the series, fitting for it's end.

Final Fantasy Will Never ****ing End!!!!!!!!!!!!!! still it might get less popular after a time. but if need be new people can step up with fresh ideas. and the final fantasies -at least the 1,2,3,4,5 .- are all connected. (1 and 2 through the calamity, 2 and four through kain and mysidia, 1 and four through the crystals. 1 and 3 through the crystals. 3-4 through the crystals. then you tie in five cause of the crystals too.)
