I loved the graphics on FFVIII. It was the first FF game I played and it blew me away. Maybe thats why I'm partial to it though.

Which Final Fantasy Title started it for you? Which one did you first get that made you hungry for the rest of them?
For me, I first played a demo disc my cousin lent me, I played through it and found a game on there called Final Fantasy 7. I played it, and I liked it. However, I didn't do anything after that. Then, for my b'day, my parents got me a game, and it was absolute crap, so we took it back and I got to pick something out for myself. I walked through the game section and I saw the title Final Fantasy 7. I picked it up, and thought, "I must have this". I took it home, played it, and since then I was intrigued. I got FF8, 9, 10, then I started digging up the old ones. And my Final Fantasy collection has spread since then. Which FF started it for you? |

I remember being first introduced to the game when I was around 10, back when Final Fantasy VI (known as Final Fantasy III in America at the time) was on the SNES. I was over at a friend's house and his big brother let me play it. I didn't really like it at the time because the ATB made me jittery. When I finally got into high school, a closer friend got me interrested in the game again, and told me to try out Final Fantasy VIII. I remembered seeing comercials for Final Fantasy VII a few years back, so I said, what the hell, and got it. Been playing ever since.

I was nine when I first happened across Final Fantasy VII, and I couldn't work the controls. When I finally found out that circle was select, not x, the game got a whole lot better. In the three weeks I was loaned it, I got up to Reno at the plate support. A year later, I was out looking for games, and found Final Fantasy VII. Honest-to-god, I used no guides, and it took me up till last year to be fairly certain I've found everything there is to be found, and done everything there is to be done. Now, I'm trying to get hold of Final Fantasy VIII, so I can complete that one over the next five or six years.

Final Fantasy.....Yup, that's right, the very first one. Yes, I am that old. :O
Frankly I was mesmerized by the little sprites doing thar thang and beating up the little monsters on the screen. It was more complex than say Mario but not so complex as would take too long to get into it. I loved it. :P

FFVI or II as it was called on the SNES. Good game. Could never beat it cause I got stuck and had to give it back to my cousin. FFVII was my very first FF I beat totally. I borrowed a friends PSone and his tv for three weeks instead of an entire weekend. Played it for three days straight and wiped the floor with Sepheroth and have played ever since. I've played them all sept FFXI since I won't even bother paying for it online... and that the fact that the last time I saw it... it was as much as the PS2!!

For me, it all started with a demo of FF7. I wanted to buy the game but I didn't have the money for it at the time so I looked online and downloaded FF6 for snes not knowing how freaking great it was. This game did a lot for me. It showed the beauty of the rpg world and expand my imagination in my writings and thoughts. After I beat FF6, to this day, I have played and beat FF 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,x-2,and 12 (plus all gba remakes and tactics.). Still waiting for FF13 to be announced for 360 but meh, we'll see.

My first was FFVII, but FFVIII was the one that got me into it.
FFVII was lent to me by a friend, along with a bunch of other games, and it got overshadowed by Gran Turismo and Grand Theft Auto (I was big into racing games back then). I played it for about ten minutes, got bored and went back to Gran Turismo. (this was a month or two after FFVII first came out) Then a few years later, a few weeks after FFVIII was released, I found a copy of it in a bargain bin at my local gameshop, all battered to ****, for £8 (a real bargain considering it had been out for only a couple of weeks) so I bought it out of curiosity, and when I played it I was absolutely amazed. I was sucked into it right away and then decided to go buy all the FF games, starting with FFVII. |

Heh, the first ff I've ever played was the gay piece of **** of FFMQ(Mystic Quest) witch almost turned me off from series all together since it was such crap and so easy, its also had no party system, how lame. One day I download the rom for FF4(I downloaded all the classics) and said bloody hell this is much better than MQ and I've loved FF ever since. The games I've beaten are 1,4, and I'm working on 5.

Twas FFX for me, but I did watch a bit of FFVIII before that, as that was the first one my friend got.
I still like FFX, but I got slightly bored of it. Now I'm bribing my brother to train for me by dangling FFXII above him. xD
