Mine was FFVIII. It was my first and one the best in my opinion. FFVII was overrated.

XI for me, it was something completely new for me as i usually go for sports games etc, i loved it when i picked it up and been hooked on the series since ^_^. Favourites FFXI, just because it has alot to it and you just cannot complete it.

Final Fantasy for the NES back in 199X, damned if I can remember the exact year anymore.

Red Mage always got named Link because I was unoriginal and full of fail.

FFVII was my first I had never heared of it before being only around ten at the time but o did I fall totally in love with the game from the very beggining of the opening sequence, or did I just fall for Aerith? (jk)

FFX, it was such an amazing game, and I cried for literally an hour and a half when I saw the ending. I'm playing FFXII now, and I have to say, it's really up there with FFX, if not past *gasp* I don't know if you understand how big of a thing that is for me.

FFVII would've been my first, but my friend was playing it at the time so I borrowed FFVIII instead. I've played the rest since then, though.

final fantasy 6 on snes was my first and what a great way to start. that game is still one of my favs. i'm replaying it now on gba. that game had it all, graphics (at that time), music, gameplay, story, etc. so i just had to play the rest after that

Most of the masses started on FFVII, and that's why its so popular. Many people's firsts go on to be their favorites, so long as that first doesn't suck. My first was also FFVIII. Even though this was after FFIX was released, a friend told me that FFVIII was a better beginner FF....what a load of crap. It took me nearly four months of straight play to beat it. FF's are much easier now, but FFVIII was a pain. I still love it though, and its one of my more favored ones in the series. And another thing, after all that play I almost know that game inside out.

It's not in the poll, but it was FFVI, better known as FFIII back in the day.

Love that game, even though it's graphics seem pretty primitive compared to today's games. I always felt this game would have been great if it came out later, like on PS1 or even PS2. But oh well. Nah let's just stick with GBA...wahwe;j
