Advent Children wins Anime Award

The first annual American Anime Awards, which took place on February 24 at the New York Comic Con, boasted several awards... the most prestigious of which was probably Best Anime Feature... And guess who walked away with it.

The Best Anime Feature award went to Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. America has spoken... Advent Children is the GREATEST ANIME EVER.

Ok, maybe not, but it did beat out the likes of Akira, Pokemon 8, Fullmetal Alchemist - The Movie, and Inuyasha 4.

Booooo! Advent Children is awful, I don't see how it even begins to compare to Akira on a technical and story related level.

I could have slightly understood if it walked away with best CG movie or best CG in a movie. But yeah, giant WTF over here too. But then again I guess the voting process had thousands of "Sephiroth is my bishie!" people voting in it.

Though Akira was somewhat of a mind trip at times. It was definitely better storyline wise.

an hour and a half of hearing Cloud bitch and Kadaj bitching and gloating, and about 20 -30 minutes of actual decent fight scenes.

I remember watching it and during the movie I had to go to the store. I swear, I wasn't gone longer than 30 minutes and it was over. =/
