Final Fantasy Dissidia

Square Enix have confirmed that Final Fantasy Dissidia will be a new game for the PSP, which will be part of the 20th anniversary of the FF series (which already includes PSP remakes of the first two Final Fantasy games)

You can check out for yourself the official site Square Enix have opened for Final Fantasy Dissidia but not much is there at the moment. The logo for the game is there along with a tagline of:

"Fantasy is endless" and "Fantasy has no limited form"

IGN report that Tetsuya Nomura is a character designer for the title and also that it may not even be an RPG, as its genre is listed as "Dramatic Progressive Action."

SE have promised to release more details at their upcoming party.

I was about to post that myself about an hour ago, but didn't think there was enough info to intrigue people, and I certainly didn't know it was for PSP. That's a shame, I don't have, and will not get a PSP. It certainly has me listening though. How far away is the Square Enix Party?

I don't know about you, but the revelation of a Final Fantasy games without almost any details besides it's name (which is clearly intentional) with some VERY enticing words to hint at what it's about... has actually gotten me really, really exciting.

I did try and find some other info about it but they are being cagey, however when the 12-13th comes and goes, im sure more details will be available- we hope..xD

They had better release some info. I get pissed off waiting so long for just a snippet of info here and there.
Though I doubt they'll give us *too* much more than that.

but seeing as how it isn't a numbered FF i'm not holding to it being entirely new material. maybe a crossover battle game?

Nope, by the looks of it this is a whole new game and not a remake of any kind.Though that remains to be seen, it's the most likely outcome.

Judging by the logo maybe its something to do with Ifrit and Shiva,- though what that can be is up for speculaton.

It's for PSP, that's a shame. If it was something major and massive it would not be on PSP, it would be on a home console. So this game could be ANYTHING. As for me, I'm more interested in hearing some news on XIII and Versus XIII. CAN'T WAIT!!!

Oh, to edit this page. I found some new info on DISIDIA from FinalFantasyVersusXIII.net. Not sure entirely how credible it could be, but info is info.

Again, Desi has found more details on Final Fantasy Dissidia!

- Final Fantasy series characters battle on a 3D field. The genre is fighting competition action (?).
- The gods Cosmos and Chaos called on the heroes of light and dark
- Warrior of light from FF1, Zidane from FF9 will participate
- Garland and Kuja are also confirmed
- Character designs by Nomura.

Not sure what to think about that... xD

To me it sounds like a participation of all the final fantasy characters. OHHHH!! Damn the PSP!!! I hope it comes out on multi-platform!

This sounds very interesting, and is actually something I've been secretly wanting for a couple of years now.
I always wanted to beat the **** out of Cloud with Nanaki, and this could be my big chance.

I have dreamed of a game like this. I actualy thought of sending an idea to SE about a Smash Bros FF but that was when I was way younger. Too bad it is for the psp though..don't have it and don't plan on buying one...

*drools*.... i must have it! the scan rly helped turn a rumor into an awsome reality! It looks to be great! (Garland looks awsome). think of it, alll the early series's greatest heroes and villains, pitted off against eachother in a no holds brawl to the death! Finnally, a spin off worthy of even gilgamesh himself! best news all month!
