Squall confirmed for FF: Dissidia

Square Enix hasn't been especially forthcoming about there Smash Bros-esque Final Fantasy fighter, but their booth at Tokyo Game Show did reveal one new character on the game's roster. Squall Leonhart of FFVIII fame will be tossing his gunblade into the mix.

No release date has been given for the title, which is currently in development for the Sony PSP.

Ah Squall. Although you could kinda figure he'd be in. Hope they take Yang in this game. Pwning Cloud with his martial arts would be awsome.

squalls a given. Yang, being a non primary IV character, would definetely be a....... surprise.....

I could see Tifa, Yuffie and Vincent in this game as well...since they were featured in the Engerhiz game, I dont see why they shouldnt be in this either.

What about Cid? They can't have thirteen or so Cids in the game, so which one? I want Al-Cid Margrace from XII. He was hands down the Cid with the funniest accent.

Will Summons/Espers/Aeons/Guardian Forces be playable? It would be awsome to play as a X or Advent Children Bahamut.

What about dead characters? Like Aeris, Auron, Balthier (Did he die or not?), and just about every villian? The ones who died were the coolest characters. I want Auron to be playable.

Are characters from Tactics fair game for this?

To put it simply, I'm excited about this.

What about Dr. Cid, Balthier's father? At least he might do something other than prance about with his entourage.

No, no, no... I want to play as FFVII's Typhoon (or Typoon, depending on the translation). I wanna sneeze on the enemies.

Balthier is still very much alive at the end of FFXII. He steals the Strahl and gives back Ashe's ring. He also turns up for the sequel, Revenant Wings. And seeing as Sephiroth and Kuja are both playable, I'd say dead guys are fair game.
