VII remake
|
|
|
Reguarding Final Fantasy VII at TGS07, Kaz Hirai, president of Sony, made a peculiar statement on a sticky note attached above a poaster featuring the words: FINAL FANTASY VII. The stickynote read: "Thanks for 10 great years. The best is yet to come."
Now, let's put two and two together. At the end of Crisis Core, you see "To be continued in Final Fantasy VII." Square Enix chose Final Fantasy VII as the technical demo for the PS3, and not any of the other dozens of Final Fantasies. After ten years of remakes for PS1 and Gameboy, Square makes Advent Children and Crisis Core. They then deny a remake passionately.
I'm no idiot. Kaz Hirai is refering to a Final Fantasy VII remake. It will come in some way. The most likely way is a fully re-rendered Blu-ray disk for PS3, complete with voice acting and new weapons and summons. The other way it may come would be from the PlayStation Network as a downloadable PS1 title, same as the three disks that you bought ten years ago when you had no clue what Final Fantasy was.
And here I will denounce a remake on the DS. You don't make a game for a portable system and then make the sequel on the opposing system. It makes utterly no sense!
"Look, up in the sky! Is it Final Fantasy VII on the 360?" It certainly won't be on the 360. The only reason that Final Fantasy XI Online came out on the 360 was for Xbox Live. Tetsuya Nomura has stated, as many of the Square workers have said, that the PS3 is the best way to express himself artistically, and therefore he won't work on the 360 or Wii for something as artsy as FFVII.
By the way, on 1up.com, the release date for Final Fantasy VII is set to November 1, 2008. Hey, they may know what many of us have been waiting to hear.

This isn't really news. You can speculate all you want about a post-it but if there's no official confirmation, its not news.
Allusion + allusion =/= fact, therefore =/= news.
I wont deny its high likelihood, but then again that isn't the point.

The news was the first paragraph. It was about what Hirai said.

Youre MAD!!! Im sick of this remake speculation. Crisis core was a prequel, of course it would have to be continued. They had a ff VI tech demo for the n64, and an VIII demo for the ps2, they just chose VII in order for fans to relate, saying that would mean an immanent VI and VIII title remade years ago.
By all means though, if the fans whine loud enough, square will listen to their consumers. I wouldnt mind playing a remake, so far, most of the port remakes have proved not half bad (Lion wars ruled ^^)
But most of all, this is hardly news. This is the national inquirer of ffextreme news reports. ID REALLY LIKE TO HEAR MORE ABOUT FINAL FANTASY ON THESE FORUMS THAN JUST SPECULATION AND INTERVIEWS. what ever happened to new game screens on future titles being released, or video clips, or even so much as release date coverage. Those are the reports that i 5'd. Wheres Kioneh, and Tycoon and all dem biches???

If through an insane possibility that FF7 will be remade, they should remake FF8 in the process so then we can witness Rinoa in all her beauty.
I know I just sound perverted but seriously, if she looked drop-dead gorgeous in PS1 FF8... just imagine how she'll be in PS3 FF8 I'll stop now <.<
On-topic, there are supposed hints of a FF7 remake but I personally say it's a no-go until Square announces it.
Either that or more news on FFXIII.

rinoa shminoa..
give us QUISTIS
quite honestly tho, I don't want a PS3 remake of either games..
FF8 was the closest of the 3 PS1 FFs to the new level of aesthetic quality that Square Enix seems to follow..
I think most people would be perfectly fine with them combining the 4 discs into a 1 single PS2 DVD-R, improve its polygon count abit, digitally upgrade its backgrounds, redo the FMV, retranslate the game and maybe add some bonus content. Basically, doing what it did with PSP FF1 & 2... that'd be perfect.. since it would stay somewhat true to its original release and wouldnt cost that much either.

FFVII is so overrated. If any game deserves a remake, I'd say it'd be IX.

Please, continue to note that the first paragraph was news. Then I got a little carried away. I take that back, I got a LOT carried away (Does this make sense?). And, I'm just not that good at news without my opinion. I wish the other people would come back and do news (That's you, Kionae and Blitzballer)
I personally don't want a remake of VII. But, let's remember that the people at Square Enix are capitalists and a VII remake is free money.
Garland, I gave a release date in the last paragraph.
A IX remake is not a bad idea, Sadistic Angel. That way they'll have left out VIII (I hated that one).

umm, Final Fantasy VII Crisis core? or... what, it seems vague
And i still dont know where kioneh and blitzballer are
Personally, i never really... finnished VII VIII or IX respectiveley. I was young and impatient. But with newly honed skills, im defenitly ready to master those games aswell. And for me, a remake would be welcoming, for all of them.
VII and VIII... meh... IX absolutely!

It is a big chance they'll re-make this game, but i don't think that was there intetntion with the Technical Demo. They choose FFVII cause that was the most known game. And the FFVII is the continuation of the Crisis Core story so it's only fair that they re-direct that. But "The best is yet to come" thing is a little scary...although it does not have to point out a remake.
(I personally think a re make will be made, i'm just trying to look at it from a different view)
