Dissidia: more villians unvieled!

In a recent promotional poster illustrated by non-other than series artist veteran, Yo****aka Amano (mind the filter), several villians appear scattered throughout the page, including new additions. These additions appear to include Kefka (FF6), Jecht (FF10), Exdeath (FF5), Cloud of Darkness (FF3) and Golbez (FF4).

So it seems we have our villains for now, and it can probably be said, some were obvious choices, like Exdeath and Kefka, and others, probably not so obvious, such as the unusual, but fitting choice of Jecht. Will we get more villians such as Seymour and Seifer? We'll have to wait and find out.

Here is the complete, confirmed character roster to date:

FF1 - Warrior of Light, Garland
FF2 - Firion, Emperor Palemecia
FF3 - Cloud of Darkness
FF4 - Golbez
FF5 - Exdeath
FF6 - Kefka
FF7 - Sephiroth
FF8 - Squall, Ultemecia
FF9 - Zidane, Kuja
FF10 - Tidus, Jecht

Locations of all villains on the promotional poster are as follows:

Garland (below the logo), Golbez (behind the logo), Kuja (to the left of Cosmos), Emperor Mateus Palamecia (above Kuja), Ultimecia (above Emperor Mateus), Sephiroth (in the center), Jecht (in between both Emperor Mateus and Sephiroth), Kefka (behind Chaos), Cloud of Darkness (above Kefka) and Exdeath (above Cloud of Darkness).

nice to see the villians, but the question that come right now is: the roster comes from every main character and main villian, but till what game??? final 13?? lighting or blue hair dude with lots of weapons??? final 12?? ashe or vaan?? what about tactics?? ramza diserves a chance to prove himself!! LOL

Awsome news Redcloud, i figured that the line up of villains would go over those lines, but the scan is soo blurry and low quality, i can't really see the characters, as anything more than amorphus blobs . Furthermore, it would be Heresy not to let gilgamesh in!

Actually, Gilgamesh would be a good extra character for FF5.

The scan IS blurry, but it's not a scan, more a photo, but once the characters a pointed out, then you can figure them out. I think the most unusual decision was Jecht, but then again, Tidus' main resolve is his father. But, a shame because, Seymour was the ultimate bad guy in FFX.

Dissidia is shaping up quite nicely- i suppose seeing as how Tidus is in the game, jecht wouldnt be far behind.

Yeah, i was a bit surprised to hear that Jecht was the main X villain too. But when you think about it, Jecht albight a lesser "villain" made a better keypoint to the story, in that it practically revolved around him. Seymour was more of a nuisance who really really wanted to be the main villain, but tampered into matters to complicated for him to comprehend. I will miss him though.

Yeah, I guess the main bad guy was Yevon after all, therefor Sin. But Seymour was the one who didn't want to die and wanted to screw the whole world up by making everyone dead. Hey would be nice to see. Jecht in contrast to Tidus makes sense, but when you think about how Chaos is bringing villians back to do whatever, Seymour would have made a little more sense in that light, seeing how Jecht isn't totally evil or anything.

Mmmm, so, i guess this game will be heavy on the giant sword fights. At one point i was worrying that they would have alot of mage type characters, like zeromus or seymour, Golbez and Jecht just make another Garland type character though (not that i'm complaining)
Glad that Kefka is confirmed, but now i'm wondering what the main hero line up will be.

I'm kinda hoping Shadow is the hero for FFVI. I mean, he isn't a the main character, nor is he that significant, but he would be fun to see in Dissidia.

There is a good reason why Jecht was not hte main villian of Final Fantasy X:
He was the only villian to love the main character.

btw, who else thinks that Exdeath is the dumbest villian name ever?

hmmm.. the villian list is as expected.. Its either the main antagonist or the final boss of the game...

Cos in III you get Cloud of Darkness instead of Xande, and in FFX you get Jecht, who is essentially Sin.. and Jecht (Braska's Final Aeon) is the final boss after all.

given the trend so far, it seems to be only 1 protagonist and 1 antagonist from each FF. Kinda boring since most, if not all protagonists are male.

I know Jecht is the one you face at the end, and the one that is Sin, but that is beacuse he is turned into him by Braska, he can not really controll his actions that much. He is no more evil than my right hand. Seymour was a poor evil antagonist mabye but still evil. ¨

hmm if they added 1 more character per series entry.. that'd be cooler because you get to play the exciting side characters..

if it were me.. my list would be like this..

I - Matoya (as a Black Mage)
II - Maria (as a ranger-ish girl)
III - Xande
IV - Cain (as a dragoon)
V - Gilgamesh
VI - Shadow (ninja)
VII - Tifa (mnk)
VIII - Quistis (blue mage)
IX - Beatrix (as a paladin.. then again we have Cecil, unless he's dark knight mode)
X - Yuna (summoner)

..anyway.. I don't think how evil the main antagonist is has anything to do with their position as one.. after all, if you consider how Sephiroth and all the other clones have been subconsciously manipulated by Mother all along, the most evil being in FF7 is Jenova... not Sephiroth.. so it doesn' matter to that extent.

Y'know, twelve heros and twelve villians is a lot to ask for. I think that rather than saying they should add one more character per game, we should be grateful.

But, if I had to pick, I'd say,

I- (Not much to chose from) Hero of light, Garland
II- Maria, Leon
III- I never played it. How 'bout just some random moogle from it, and a cait sith to ride it.
IV- Cecil, Kain
V- (I downloaded the version of this game from this site, and the translation had the main character's name as Butz, which I'm pretty sure isn't right, but him anyway), Gilgamesh
VI- Terra, and that octapus whose name escapes me
VII- Aeris, Rufus Shinra
VIII- Squall, Rinoa (She was a villian for about fifteen minutes at one point)
IX- Dagger, Garland (He can be in twice!)
X- Tidus, Seymour
X-2- Yuna, LeBlonc (And she can summon Logos and Ormi as a special move)
XII- Balthier, Dr. Cidolfus

We should make a poll for this.
