Hey, who else wanted to throw their PSP at the wall during the infiltration mission?

Not only was that a badly done stealth action mini-game, which I thought I'd do good at because I've been playing Metal Gear Solid for the first time while waiting for Crisis Core, it made no sense to me why I had to infiltrate, why the guards would open a chest because I did something wrong, and why Shinra troops were fighting me.

That was such a bad game. There was nowhere to hide, you couldn't move the camra when you crouched, and you had to keep yourself warm by doing crouches in non-existant hiding places.

But while I'm at it, Metal Gear Solid is one of the best games I've ever played. I haven't enjoyed a game as much as Metal Gear Solid since the first time I played Final Fantasy. And that's saying something on a Final Fantasy fan site. When you all buy your PLAYSTATION 3s, get Metal Gear Solid 4 too, so you'll have more to play than just the Fabula Nova Crystallis.

Yeah, the kung fu panda avatar was funny for a day, and then it sucked.

Well, you must put into account that Zack's not a turk, or solid snake, or any form of stealth Ops. He is SOLDIER, their one man, power houses. The reason why he had to infiltrate the base was mainly to impress Tseng and cloud, that he was more than just a muscle man. Honestly, i didn't care if they took some of the treasure, the missions would give me duplicates and better stuff anyway. As for the "squats", well, apparently he likes doing squats.

Ok, here's a question for all of you... Did you find it a little awkward going on various synthetic dates with aeris in the game? It was kinda to realistic for comfort :/

Ok, I'm playing, and I love it. The only complaints that I have would be the initiation of battles. It's too obvious where battles are going to pop up. They are triggered just by walking into a certain area. And the annoying thing, is when you have finished a battle and you are well within that area, you could trigger the same battle again.

The other thing, I think they could have improved on the leveling up system. Some materia just boosts right up and some NEVER get a level up. Sometimes it can get frustrating. Materia leveling up should be a little less random I think.

But I love it. So I'll keep playing it.

usually for missions i like to hug the walls to avoid unnecessary encounters.. most fights (especially the harder ones) are a waste of time and very much avoidable...

I mean.. by the time you get costly punch you don't need to level up much (altho i'm fairly certain some DMW images require certain lvs to be met) and you can level up really easily..
also, Costly Punch > all in Crisis Core..

put down the game for good last week with 100% perfect game. happy.

I just unlocked the materia fusing, it's a pretty good system. But yeah, the random encounters are annoying because they are so predictable as well. They could have touched on encounters a bit more.

I never did get shield lol.. its kinda pointless..
armor for me came after beating Minerva.

She's really not that hard.. you just need to be able to survive Judgement Arrow. The rest you can really just make up for with Phoenix Down spam.
I was using Genji Helm and Full Cure to keep myself alive. 1 casting makes it more efficient.

The mission before unlocking Minerva was harder imo... the G's throwing out crazy Energy's and those Wutai soldiers constant damage locks were lethal (i wasn't using anything with Endure). Eventually I decided to just fuse materia to make up for it but before then there wasnt a real need to..
those DMW materia with bonuses make it so damn easy to get a +100 materia on something useful

You for got about Minerva's Ultima spell. Even at lvl 99 with maxed stats, it can deal 99,999 unless you block, that was my only problem. I couldn't figure out to get full cure. Instead i had Curaga, Aerial Drain, Drainga, Darkness, Wall, and Gill toss. Each of them either had a maxed stat augment or a persentage augment. I had equiped genji shield, nulls all status ails, plus enacts wall and absorbs elements, Ziedrich, Genji gloves and Genji armor. Even in the levels coming before Minerva, i was essentially a god. All those foot soldiers could only do about 26 max damage to me. And i'd recover about 7000 every five seconds anyway from the armor. ^^ The /SPOILER: rewards after the final missions were disapointing...

hmm.. I never actually did have Minerva ever cast Ultima on me... but dying isn't an issue with Raise status. You can steal 99 Phoenix Downs from her. To get Full Cure materia you'll need to steal (im guessing rare) from the boss of the mission just before Minerva.

For me, I never did bother to boost any of my stats until reaching Minerva. It would have been way easier, but I was already killing things without much trouble using Costly Punch. The only stat I had maxed out was HP+999% on 2 materia (Curaga and Costly Punch). to make sure I had 99999HP from very early on.

I fused SPR and VIT +100 only for the Minerva Fight, then equipped Zeidrich to get it to 255 (i was around Lv70 when I fought her). Genji Helm was there to make Full Cure (and rolling) essentially free, tho Soul of Thamasa (i think, the 0mp one) would definitely have been sufficient. The last 2 slots were for Brutal and Adaman Bangle..

The rewards from the final missions were ok. I mean.. you already knew you have to be like a god to be able to win those battles.. and that theres really nothing more powerful than Minerva.. so what it really is, is a token reward to show that you've beaten the most powerful boss in the game.. think of it as something like Proof of Omega in FFVIII or Wyrmhero Blade in XII

Worm hero blade was a little more useful then Divine slayer. So, you used brutal, but not the genji gloves? arn't they the easiest Genji equipment to get, due to the fact that their in a chest?

I don't really remember. Maybe I was using that.. or maybe I didn't have it. I skipped a whole lot of chests cos it was mostly stuff I didn't need. But if I didn't then what I mentioned would definitely be the setup I was using.
I'd think Helm is easier to get because all you need to do is get the shop address and buy it for 1million..

Divine Slayer is a nice accessory. I actually use it as one of the pieces of eq in my final setup (not that its necessary)... 255 to all stats other than luck (cos i don't really care about that) with Zeidrich and materia .. The only sad thing is that theres nothing left in the game to kill, so it doesn't seem useful... It is rather e-peen i guess, since the final boss hits for like.. 0-100 mostly... and we've got that 7k regen...
The game really was meant to be rather easy.. when i first beat it i was lv30... It did take a while because the HP was long, but it was never really hard. As long as you have the skill to roll and block whenever needed, you don't really need the levels, materia or accessories for most situation.

Wyrmhero Blade kinda sucked imo.. partly because its Greatsword and partly because theres nothing much left to kill in the game if you have that too...
my final 6 weapons were katana bomb bow (team one) spear gun xbow (team two). 1 melee + 2 ranged was my favourite style of play.
