Recently, a new English dubbed trailer featuring some of the voice cast from final fantasy IV DS arrived on youtube and on other sites aswell.
The video includes dialogue from Rosa, Cecil, Kain, Palom and Porom, aswell as some naration from FuSoYa. YouTube - Final Fantasy IV trailer (with English voiceovers) As for the current list of VA's in the game, it's confirmed that Yuri Lowenthall will play as Cecil and Kain will be played by Liam O'Brien. ( why did i predict that Sasuke would play in this?) As for information on the English release in question, Square Enix has provided another site for all your needs, aswell as the confirmed NA release date for July 22, 2008. FINAL FANTASY IV | SQUARE ENIX It seems as if were keeping Edward the Bard instead of Gilbert too. Huh.

It's debatable whether or not Kains voice should go that deep, but i guess it's because yuri could of played either of those roles there needs to be variety in there voices anyway, and kain seems to work better with a deep voice. I just want to hear Golbez, because his japanese voice actor sounds cool, and i'm not even into JP dubs.

I think it's one of their best voice actor selections yet in comparison to some of their other productions.
... I showed the trailer to my father (who is playing Final Fantasy III on my DS, reliving the past a bit) who is really excited for it - he jumped up and shouted "About time, we HAVE to get it!". ((Not to mention the animated render for their Final Fantasy IV site is simply stunning)).

Many people think it's cool that he's into Final Fantasy and Anime.
... He introduced me to the series but he's really looking forward to IV on the DS and he hopes that not many things will have changed to the storyline.

I might buy a DS for this (although DS is a Dead System, haha) because I've always wanted to like IV, but I never did, and this one seems legit.
By the way, I heard from an unreliable source (But I still want to confirm) that the storyline of this new one has been expanded a LOT, like four times its original length. Is this true?

The storyline was worked on slightly but it still follows the original storyline as a lot of work was cut out of the original storyboards for IV on the releases outside of Japan (if I am remembering correctly of course) and they've put scenes back in which were removed for a few reasons and have extended the discussion scenes with a bit of information of the back-stories of the characters as well as a few bits and pieces thrown in as small easter eggs in text referring to the rest of the series. Otherwise it wasn't really expanded, just information that was cut out of the version we got and proper translations of character information that wasn't given on the actual release as it was cut out of the storyboards. Overall, a little tweaking here and there but not much change other than improvement and renewal of the old scenes which had many translation issues and due to these a lot of the script was shortened and added FMV sections which is why it appears to be four-times longer when they've just given us more details.

So will the DS version keep the secret soul shrine dungeon which was included in the gba remake? And if so will they keep the special story line extras which were available to characters like kain within the secret dungeon? That would be cool, since i never really completed IV advanced secret dungeon, (the lunar one not the Mountain one)
IV was a last minute Snes imported game, so that means that everything was hastily revampt back then, storywise and graphic wise ergo IV was almost an incomplete project. I guess that explains why they're making a DS re-remake. I just hope that's the case and not that they will ds import V and VI aswell, because i loved the GBA remakes and i hope that if they did do another remake of them theyed do it on a higher quality mashine. The DS isn't a dead system commandie,
