Default Final Fantasy: Dissidia Japanese Trailer 2

The second Japanese trailer for the much anticipated Final Fantasy: Dissidia has been released. You can check it out here at Game Trailers.

Gametrailers.com - Dissidia: Final Fantasy - Japanese Trailer 2

Doesn't show much new except for a short scene of the characters talking, and an awesome battle scene in full Final Fantasy glory. I promise you, any Final Fantasy fan will get excited after seeing this.

Redcloud that post was pure win! I am definetly 500% more exited about this game and i was extatic about it before!

The whole trailer had that marvel comics civil war feel to it.

and Garland byfar has the trickyest trick blade i have ever seen!

Im especially impressed with a deodorant brand as a confirmed character.

That CGI sequence just blew me away and got me so pumped up. Now I can't wait for sure. Tidus was simply awesome in it, doing that amazing run.

What nobody has thought of yet, is that we are going to hear a lot of these character's voices for the first time. Apart from some stuff from Kingdom Hearts, FF 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9 characters, we'll pretty much hear for the first time. I can't wait to hear what they sound like.

Some observations also. It looks like Firion can equip all kinds of different weapons to two hands as you could with the weapon system in FF2.

I personally can't wait to play as ALL of them, but I'm looking forward to being Cloud, Sephiroth, Squall, Zidane and Kuja the most.

RedCloud: Yes, they are trying to stick with the original game styles/engine styles used within the games in which the characters originally featured in.

There should be a few audio sections with the characters talking up soon and hopefully we'll get some more updates on the Dissidia site itself.

((Garland, the site features the translations for what they were known as in the original games so they are not mistranslations whereas our translated versions could have most likely been mistranslated but may be kept the same to what they were released as initially in any English or non-Japanese translation)).

And.... that was too much info Garland.

... It's a long story.

It's good that they are keeping the game systems and all that for each of the characters and where they came from. So far I've noticed that Firion can equip two weapons and any weapon pretty much, and Tidus (I saw in a scan), his Overdrive contains that bit where you have to hit the select button in the middle of that bar. So, we should get some great diversity between the characters.

That's for sure, but there will be some weapons that only certain characters can use meaning that Firion can't use them all.

I've seen a video clip, although in bad resolution of Squall's Renzokuken featuring the Trigger on R1 from the Final Fantasy VIII system, meaning that some of the sections will still be randomized and with this and other low resolution clips that people (I can't name them) have snuck out of the game so far means that it will certainly be a game to remember.

((I'm not sure, but there might be a weapons customization section. I'll follow this up and get back to you)).

Also forgot to point out that there are some differences with the character designs shown in the videos.

Such as the artwork that has been displayed on the site and other displays at venues and the like have been altered.

Oddly, Ultimecia is sporting a Griever-pendent (of Griever's head only, minus the cross which is seen on Squall's version) in comparison to her original design and actually does not match who Ultimecia really is confirmed to be by Square Staff members from her original design in Final Fantasy VIII.

There have been some other changes, I'll try and post a list up and maybe some videos for this tomorrow.

I believe Firion can use several types of weapons, but only his own, AKA he has with him a lance a bow an axe etc, but he can't use someone elses weapon like a gunblade for example. I'ts cool how his main sword is the bloodsword as it was the most effective weapon oddly enough against the emperor.

Lamont- actually their name may be a mispronunciation, such as their name for Gilgamesh which is still pronounced and spelled something on the lines of Girugameshu. I'm not saying that the english versions don't mistranslate anything, but when the remakes came and had everything supposedly translated better, names like that stayed the same while others were changed, i think Firion is based on another mediteranean name anyway.

Also, for a movie as awsome as this, i feel no shame for my statement earlier

awesome. I really cannot wait for this now..
however, I really do hope they up the number of females in this title..

heroes and villians from III-VI have yet to appear, if im not mistaken. and I think we can at least slot Terra in there..
but 1 female per faction is quite pathetic to say the least..

the fighting system looks really good. They all have unique stances/styles.. its really like an FF SSBM, but with KHII styled fighting frenzy and stylistic animation...

Garland, they did admit that the names for the majority of characters in the translations we got were wrong in some parts but as the Japanese language consisting of (the current one) Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji they are missing some letters and/or sounds that we have in English and other translations that still make use of the basic written and spoken forms of English for the pronunciation.

However the names have been based off multiple things and I do know about Firion's name - has had about or more than three translation versions. Such as Frionel, Frioniel, Firion, Firiona, Firionel, Firionel and a fair few others I've seen in some various translations.

So really any of the mistranslations could be correct for the versions depending on what language the game is purchased in so with any of the "Katakana sounding" names to be different or wrong would be weird as Gilgamesh is a borrowed name which explains the Girugamesh part as they were trying to stick to the original pronunciation (because of their lack of "L" and another letter or two that is made up in their Current Japanese language) even though Gilgamesh has been mistranslated a few times...

Spira, since the gap is too large they are most likely going to put those characters in a secret characters or leave them unannounced for a while until the game is absolutely complete.

... It's a long story.

I reckon they just want to keep us guessing with the other characters. Even though some of them are easy to guess. This does remind me of a SSBB even though I hate Super Mario, and I dare anybody to say SSBB will be better than this .

Now, I had some other thoughts about this the other day. What if they pull something tricky and they give us Zack instead of Cloud? It's not too likely they will, but if they gave us Jecht to pair off against Tidus because they are the perfect rivals, then wouldn't Zack be the perfect rival for Sephiroth after seeing playing Crisis Core? Though, I doubt they would, as there would be a number of angry fans waiting to be Cloud again.

And another thing. This is the first time Kefka's evil laugh will make it out of the SNES, GBA version. It's not a big deal, but I wonder how they are going to switch it over to real voices?
