Thanks to the findings of Redcloud, i decided to peruse Dissidia's site bookmark, and not to my surprise the old poster page had been replaced by a revamped site.
The site itself is still in it's early stages and does not reveal anything that it's audience doesn't know about. Not even censored hints of what information is yet to come, instead it only gives the synopsis of the games story (in Japanese) and a character list of Garland, Warrior of Light, Emperor, Frioniel, Ultimecia, Squall, Kuja, and Zidane. The list is viewed through a half diameter clock like device starting from I and ending with IX, although it does not include the numbers of whose final fantasys have not yet been officially included in the site, nor does it leave any gaps of space. The names "Emperor" and "Frioniel" are presumably mistranslations and/or Japanese exclusive pronounciations for the characters, and should be changed to Emperor Paramecia and Firion. Also, above each duo's character profile in the center is the games original box logo pertaining to the original release. (For those who have notticed, Final Fantasy I and II's logo's look very different from the title logo's that we know of them now to have.) Another little bonus, is the inclusion of a "video" located by the crystal in the center of each page, which gives you a Japanese video of original cutscenes and gameplay from their corresponding games, which date back to as far as the nostalgic NES. Aside from that there's not much readable information on it, however it does possess some nice battle screens for dissidia aswell. DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY Hopefully Square Enix will update the site more often henseforth.

I love the layout of the site.. especially the character page and how they use the number dial to scroll thru series entries...
Frioniel is correct for JP audiences. Its his original name. Firion was probably a result of truncation for when it was ported to the GBA, and then they just stuck with that.. Just like how Leonheart's name became Leon. Emperor is correct too. The Japanese form of his name only states the word "Emperor" and makes no mention of his first name, Mateus, or his surname/empire name Palamecia. You can also draw comparisons to Tina/Terra and Mash/Sabin in FFVI and Gilbert/Edward from FFIV... |

Don't forget Buttz xD
the GBA had alot of space for names they put instead of "grunt", "Imperial soldier" that's alot more space, Firion is a real name, and i guess is a more acurate translation. But for the most part, American audiences did not want to let go of the names that they grew up on.

Yeah, I saw this the day before I saw the new video, but completely forgot about it when I was posting about the video. The site looks great. I sorta don't really want to know the other characters though until a few weeks before the release, or even when I play it. The suspense IS killing me, but it leaves a very mysterious quality behind the whole game.

That was a cool site, and it was fortunate that I know how to read Katakana and Hiragana, but it was unfortunate that I don't actually know any Japanese vocabulary and grammar.
But hey, I read something that went like sukuuea inikkusu menbazu saito, which I'm certain was the link to the Square Enix Membership site.

The Dissidia updates and information have had some features on there, soon to be on the Members TV and at the Private Party which some Members if they were lucky received invitations for.

the site was just updated. It now contains a wallpaper, and a section on Tidus and Jecht. Looks like Jecht plays the role of the reluctant villain.
