From Japan is December 18th, it is said to be packed with the PlayStation Portable Series 3000 Model (the newest model which features a built-in microphone) limited edition model with an artwork of some sort on the back of the console - like Square-Enix's Crisis Core limited edition model.
However the PSP uses UMD (Universal Media Discs) and so the game can be imported or ordered before that date and arrive on the date depending on how/where/which place or person you import it through. It's being released on December 18th due to the original Final Fantasy's release date which was December 18th 1987. There might be a cheaper edition of the limited edition PSP which I have mentioned above as there is a rumour going around that it will be the Series 3000 model which was announced at the Game Convention which is basically a slightly enhanced Lite & Slim PSP model, but the rumour states that there might be a Phat/Fat Series 1000 model released with it. *Shrugs* I personally think the rumour is rather idiotic as the Series 1000 isn't really any better than either Lite & Slim models for any other reasons that I cannot mention here. |

There is a new trailer for Dissidia, and it shows Kefka for sure. It also verifies that there ARE 10 titles to be included as it shows the silhouettes of 10 good guys and 10 bad guys. Could we break it down perhaps to see who they are?
It's at Game Trailers. EDIT: My assumptions. Rather than naming them I put down numbers 1 - 10 for the titles as the Main characters are a little self explanatory except for 6.: ![]() And this hand here. I think it looks like a female hand. My assumption that it is Terra, as the clothing is just noticeable as red, and the bare hand has a feminine pattern running down the back of the hand: ![]() ![]() Last edited by RedCloud : 09-05-2008 at 06:07 AM. |

I'm currently working on cleaning up some screenshots I took - meaning I'm making it a bit clearer to see the characters and am marking out which characters they are in my rough Japanese translations on their names and their English names but I do have to agree with your screens RedCloud. To the side that Kefka says that he has to be careful when it comes to a female friend - most likely referring to Terra.

Well here's what I think, however the ones I've marked as The Dark Cloud / Cloud of Darkness and The Emperor / Emperor Palamecia might be a little bit mixed up - I labeled them that way because the one I've marked up as the Cloud of Darkness seems to have the minions visible and the Dark Cloud's cloak is shorter and more curved due to the way she holds it whereas Mateus' cloak has multiple layers and is somewhat petal-like. Jecht is often seen standing side-ways in Final Fantasy X and the outline resembles various artwork from Final Fantasy X.
The one to Garland's right is obviously Kefka, and I'll link the Amano artwork too. ![]() There is certainly a female character in there (Cosmos side below), however there are a couple that have similar outfits to Terra so I will be posting more in the Amano artwork at the end of this post. One of the unknowns you've marked out RedCloud is Tidus as I can make out his hood and the back of his outfit (after playing X that much it seems to stand out like a Cactuar in the snow...) and I've marked four characters as Unknowns due to the issue of similarity to other characters - again at the end of the post for Amano artwork the reason being is the Character's height, weight, outfit design, hairstyle and headpiece makes it a little bit confusing to make an exact guess. ![]() Amano I Shows Kefka, particularly his pose which is the same to the Dissidia screen. Amano II Shows Rosa and Reina's similar outfits which could also be fitting to Dissidia's Cosmos side screen. Amano III Shows Cyan's outfit which could be fitting to Dissidia (in particular the white-cloaked character has a similar look to Cyan), it also shows the similarity of Krile's outfit of which you can now compare to Terra's. Amano IV Shows a few, one that a few groups are speculating that one of the Unknowns might be Edge - who is in the Amano IV artwork. Amano V Shows a few characters - in particular: Locke, Terra, Cecil, Bartz and Firion on the Amano V image. *Shrugs* Just a few similarities as the costumes are similar to the screenshots. Also, I'm really tired and I know that I've screwed up something in my Japanese. Instead of characters it says person of or member of chaos/cosmos side. >.>; Last edited by Lady Lamont : 09-06-2008 at 06:53 AM. |

doesnt the unknown no.4 looks like LOCKE from FFVI????
IM SEEING that the strategy of this game is 2 character almost from each series... we got kefka from FFVI, so there should be Lock or terra.. And if we r not mistaken, we got EX-Death from FFV, So there should be lenna or faris -im not sure bout bratz, but if we consider that they put the warrior of light maybe they will put bratz any ways, we'll know by the time |

I don't agree with some of the Chaos' side you've marked down Lamont, (the one on the far right is definitely Jecht with his sword out to the side and his single shoulder guard) but then again, we know who the Chaos side is going to be. Garland, Palmecia, Cloud of Darkness, Golbez, ExDeath, Kefka, Sephiroth, Ultemecia, Kuja and Jecht. The initial Chaos poster by Amano must have been true.
And it's good to see the confirmation of 10 titles. 9 must have been a mistranslation somewhere. I have a feeling that Unknown IV on the Cosmos side might be Cecil in his Dark Knight form. His pose looks similar, and his sleek and tight-fitting armour could sure make it true. I have a feeling Cecil, Bartz, Terra and Cloud are the remaining characters. As for bonus characters (if any hopefully) FF5 is a particular interesting case, as is FF2. I think Gilgamesh would be favourite, but then, Faris would be great too, a female dressed as a male. FF2 has characters like Minwu and Leon as well and a lot of others to pick from. ___________________________________ I was kind of hoping that they rearrange all of the battle music for this game (whether they haven't got to it yet and are using the originals for now or who knows) but the battle music does seem a little recycled. And the older ones, especially the FFIII battle music in that video doesn't feel right as the sound isn't full enough. As like they've shown with One-Winged-Angel, they could rearrange all the battle music so they all have the same feel, but are fresh, don't feel plainly recycled and support the style of the battles in Dissidia. I would love to hear the Final Battle from FFI rearranged and done orchestrated etc. Hears hoping! ![]() |

Well here is my reasoning for why I marked The Emperor at the end of the group instead of Jecht:
I ~ Jecht has short hair and has a common pose, of which he slouches back - he does that exact pose when he folds his arms as he leans back a bit more and it can be seen when he does (just before he leaps into the air) the Sublimely Magnificent Jecht Shot Mark III and in other scenes in X. II ~ The character on the end has long straight hair whereas Jecht's hair is a short-tangled mess basically. III ~ If that was Jecht holding his blade out, then it would not appear to be so thin and I would also be able to make out the shape properly. IV ~ Jecht's outfit only has a sash whereas the character on the end has multiple layers. V ~ Jecht is a fairly large man in comparison to Palamecia who has a slimmer, what many would call a somewhat feminine build which resembles the last character's silhouette more than Jecht's. Therefore my reasoning gives my reason to label the end one as Emperor Mateus Palamecia instead of Jecht. Here are the Nomura redesigns for comparison: Jecht Emperor Mateus Palamecia Firion Tidus Kuja Ultimecia Squall Leonhart Zidane Tribal Garland Cloud of Darkness Onion Knight Onion Knight - Ex-Mode Warrior of Light ------ That's what I was thinking about the Unknowns too, however the pose and everything also rather resembles Locke. Personally I want bonus characters. And the music, not all of it has been remixed - the majority of the music used in their videos or any Beta Stages have always been original versions of the songs and that version of the Final Fantasy III music was from the Eternal Wind orchestration which I would love to hear as another remix... or basically a good remix album for Dissidia however I think some songs should not be completely redone (such as The Black Mages take on Otherworld... it just didn't pack that punch in comparison to the original one). But it's turning out pretty well considering a few things. |

Personally, I think it is Jecht. He could be further behind the characters, making him appear smaller, his blade might not be completely flat-on to the camera, and there are also the ripples from the heat of the fire to take into account, but in the end it doesn't really matter, we know who they all are.
![]() I reckon Otherworld could have been remixed again, (not like the Black Mages version), but as totally non-lyrical perhaps. I hope they do arrange them. Perhaps One Winged Angel doesn't need to be remixed AGAIN though. They might be able to just use the Advent Children one, or simply the original but update it from the old midi tracks to some real instruments. |

That's true, personally I'd enjoy Sarin: Kata Tsubasa No Tenshi ~ Advent Children One Winged Angel which was a hell of a lot better than what they had originally did on their album - The Black Mages II: The Skies Above... I really want to hear better versions of some songs... (fingers crossed for Sir Seifer as I really want Force Your Way redone again... with a lot of improvement too), Battle II - specifically the III version... and I hope that they keep the variations of the Victory Fanfare which are basically remixed versions of what was used in what game. |

I would really rather have Kain in the game than Cecil, because I think that he would be better at gameplay than Cecil, but I do recognize the fact that he has a lot more potential for plot than Kain, who's plot potential doesn't amount to a lump of gravel, which really is more important, in My eyes.
That doesn't mean I have to like it though!

Kain has ALOT of plot potential Abul ( play on words, cain and abel? :P). Cecil and Kain would make great rivals as there were great moments of tention between the two, if you played IV advance, theres some bonus scenes later which climax this situation.
