Oh yeah, forgot about that. Still, I hope summoning is a universal character trait and not just a Terra move...
EDIT: I looked at the last design for the can and also found our first CG pic of Jecht. Can you find him? http://i34.tinypic.com/o0q6vs.jpg Also, apparently these pictures were a legitimate leak, i.e., something SE didn't want reaching the public yet. The website that first posted them got nailed. I think we'll be okay, but just warning you guys... http://www.dissidia-france.com/forum...271&#entry6271

It's a little to late now. LOL, the global ff community is aware of it. Must admit though, this stuff did seem a little spoilery when i saw it. Oh well, It's been a while since i posted some good news threads, so this was worth the risk. SE ninjas probably arn't even aware of this site... OH Sh*T, were like the first hotlink on google!

Actually, we're second and sometimes first if you know what to google (and not just googling "ffextreme").
Anyway, I read somewhere that there was rumoured to be as many as 50 summons in this game, and that they are indeed available to all characters. Take it with a grain of salt however, as these people didn't cite where they heard the information. Plus, it suspiciously sounds like the previews for FF XII RW (didn't that have like 50 summons?). In the event that there are indeed fifty summons, they would have to include nearly everything from FF I-X, as that totals up to close to sixty (including the monsters that became summons in FF IV--which wouldn't be an unwelcome addition in light of the game's purpose). Excluding those, however I compiled a list of all 53 summons found in the series (I added Garuda because that's the only original one in FF XI, and excluded everything from XII because they were hardly traditional). This is in order of first game appearance, numbers listed are only those games in which they were originally summons, therefore no appearances in remakes or as monsters are included. Basically, the more numbers listed after it, the more likely the summon will be in Dissidia. Safe assumptions would be Bahamut, Ifrit, Leviathan, Odin, Ramuh, Shiva, Titan, Carbuncle, Phoenix, Alexander, and possibly Fenrir, Diablos, or Maduin (by argument of more recent revival than other two-time summons). Summons that were integral to plots not included in that list: Mist Dragon, Hydra, Gilgamesh, possibly Quetzacoatl, Valefor, and possibly Anima (although, arguably, almost any summon in FFX can be plot-related). Ultimate summons also stand a higher chance than the other one-game summons, so Knights of the Round, Eden, and Ark also could make it. And finally, anything that has become a symbol of FF, such as Chocobo, Moogle, Moomba, Pupu, Cactuar, Tonberry, etc., could be thrown in as summons if they couldn't find anywhere else to fit them into the game. So those are my predictions, along with anything else they see fit to include. Bahamut 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 Ifrit/Djinn 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 Leviathan 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11 Odin/Raiden 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Ramuh/Indra 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11 Shiva 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 Titan 3, 4, 5, 7, 11 Asura 4 Mist Dragon 4 Sylph 4, 5 Carbuncle 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 Catoblepas 5, 6 Golem 5, 6 Hydra 5 Phoenix 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Remora 5 Alexander 6, 7, 8, 9 Bismark 6 Crusader/Knights of the Round 6, 7 Fenrir 6, 9, 11 Kirin 6 Maduin/Madeen 6, 9 Palidor 6 Phantom 6 Seraphim 6 Stray/Cait Sith 6 Siren 6, 8 Terrato 6 Tritoch 6 Unicorn 6 ZoneSeek 6 Hades 7 Kjata 7 Moogle/Minimog 7, 8 Typhon 7 Cactuar 8 Cerberus 8 Diablos 8, 11 Doomtrain/Phantom Train 8 Eden 8 Gilgamesh 8 Moomba 8 Pandemona 8 Quetzacoatl 8 Tonberry 8 Atomos 9 Ark 9 Anima 10 Ixion 10 Magus Sisters 10 Valefor 10 Yojimbo 10 Garuda 11 EDIT: And thanks to FFcompendium for already organizing most of this.

Not even Revenant wings, which was a game almost completely based on summons had 50. Plus it seems a little over the top to include off beat summons like Goblin/imp from FF IV. I'm pretty sure that the summons ability is only available to terra, and that she has the option of summoning multiple Espers from her world, not including others.

I would agree with that except...
Terra was only shown summoning Typhon in the trailer, Ifrit was reportedly summonable in the demo. Terra wasn't available in the demo. Which leads me to believe that they will be a universal ability. Makes sense, considering they are just powerups, and that would be kind of lame to only give Terra that ability. And I thought that RW still didn't have that many, but that's just what it was rumored to have and that rumor suspiciously resembled this one, so I used it as possible cause for debunking. I still think they will try to include as many iconic summons as feasibly possible, and that could be a lot. Three fire summons: one for fire defense up, one for fire offense up, maybe one for fire weapon damage, repeat for other elements, include upping stats, immunity to various status effects if they have any, positive status effects like haste and regen; they could potentially match an effect to every summon on that list, depending on how far they were willing to go. So I don't find the concept of nearing 50 summons as far-fetched as you do. Plus, it's not like they have to create a cinematic masterpiece for each summon entrance this time; it seems that the only limitation is how long Amano's sketching hand can go without causing carpal tunnel. :P

Well, i don't think they would use multiple ifrits from different games. Maybe one solid concept for each summon. Also, i'm positive they won't do the 'Shiva family' strategy which they used in RW

Oh, definitely they won't make up any new summons just to form family classes like in RW. They'll only use classics from the original series installments and make all of them equally impressive to do each of them justice.
And yes, I am quite sure that each of the summons will get an Amano makeover so that no one game's representation of them dominates. They will be original designs that combine a little bit of everything, or they will be modeled after the summons' very first designs/most famous designs. But definitely not more than one look for each summon.
