Finally! Real news! The official Dissidia site has been updated. Cloud and Sephiroth have been added to the characters section, and a new video featuring them has been added to the movies section. One-winged angel FTW!!! Additionally, there is a secret video set to be revealed in the next few days. The main page has also been updated with more CGI clips from the trailer, including a few new seconds from most scenes!
Dissidia Site Also, a four page article interviewing several key staff members of Dissidia has been published in Dengeki. Interview According to ChaoticCosmos, main points are: "Tidus refers to Firion as 'Wild Rose,'" "When you press the start button, various 2D and 3D characters will explain the menu." "The Tonberry summon is a must-see when using Jecht, who can combo with it if you time the button input right." "If you look at the top of the screen you can see the affects your accessories have, with various icons to indicate the conditions." "Firion uses all 8 of the weapon types from his original game, including bare-handed fighting. The Onion Knight's attacks automatically switch up during Ex-Mode." "Kuja can activate two seperate combos depending upon how the analog stick is used, and while in Ex-Mode he is surrounded by a ring of magic that protects him as he moves and jumps." "One gimmick of the game is that the Brave Pool can be affected by the stages." "Jecht uses no magic and brawls instead, while a character like Golbez has a control scheme more like what you would expect of a boss character." "We made Cloud really easy to use since he's popular. We took a lot of time on him, right up until the end." A good portion of the rest of the interview covered the concepts for the 20 characters. "Bartz: To differentiate him from the Onion Knight, we went came to the decision to make him an FFV-style "Mime." "Terra: She is the easiest magic user to play with. You only have to balance the distance with her attacks." "Jecht: His attacks are pulled from several types of fighting. If you execute the combos with perfect timing, you can eliminate his pauses between attacks." "Ex-Death: He moves slow since he's a tree (laughs). But you can compensate for his movement. Unique amongst the characters, he can counter-attack an opponent if he guards against their attacks. He's a character that requires a lot of practice. But if you mastered him would he be invincible?" "Gobez: We went to great lengths with his concept. In his Ex-Mode, we were wanted the reference with the Shadow Dragon." "Tidus: Tidus was the only character who from the beginning we knew would have the addition of dodging. Still though, the Staff debated the pros and cons of this concept a great deal. "Emperor: He leaves a trail of mines and magic behind as he traverses the stage. Since he gradually whittles away at his opponent indirectly, he is a tough character to use." "Firion: He uses all of the equipment from the original game. Another unique feature is that he remains stationary when attacking. Firion and the Emperor share the same home stage of Pandemonium." "Sephiroth: As another popular character like Cloud, we wanted him to be easy to use. However, he requires a more professional touch. His sword has a long reach which can be used to great advantage." For those who care, someone at FF Compilations took the liberty of ripping the character art from the site. PNG files, w00t! ART

Oh, and I figure that if anyone else finds small news that isn't a site update or famitsu publication, but still isn't a spoiler or leak, just post it in this thread and I'll paperclip it. I figure that will save on Dissidia threads...:P

Great news, only nothing on Squall...oh well. I wonder if by "easy to use" they mean that Cloud is overpowered? Now after reading this, I really wanna try the boss characters, they sound like the most lasting fun.

It means like Talim/Seigfried, or Pit/Ike/Sonic, he is n00b-friendly. Which implies that only people who are quite good with certain characters should be able to beat them regularly.

What!?
Great, now Cloud and loser Sephiroth will be the strongest in the game! Jeez, they made it worse for me! *DISSIDIA CREW:* "Well, we decided to just make this a game about Cloud and Sephiroth, because we are insanely in love with them. We made them the strongest, fastest, even the best in magic! The others are just their to make them look even better. (Laughs like a girl, giggling for Cloud & Sephiroth)" *Interviewer:* "....What? Why would you do that? There are plenty of people who would like to see this a even thing, not just a FFVII game. What if 75% of people wanted a character builder, while the other half wanted it to be fair? You just sold this game to billions of people, just so they play multiplayer, and not win with their favorite characters. What if people don't want to play as Cloud and Sephiroth just to win. What The **** is wrong with you, you piece of ****!? WE DIDN'T WANT TO SEE JUST ANOTHER FFVII GAME! MAKE IT FAIR!" Quote:

Yes!when I heard OWA,i was like oh my god.....this is going to be sweet!but i'm a liitle disappointed that they made cloud easy to use.they should've made him and sephy a little hard to use so that their fandom could die down a little bit.

Terra, sounds like she will also be easy to use. Probably another cheap character like Cloud. Honestly why would they put SO MUCH TIME INTO HIM? I'll tell ya why, because they listen to the masses and not the individual. That's probably why they put the AC one winged angel in there.
Well, I for one Don't care. It will be all the more satisfying to beat a Cloud player with Garland >:P

Well they also said that winning depends primarily on skill, that "a lev. 20 player can beat a lev. 90 player"so if you dominate a particular character u can beat anyone, even sephy with his 12 ft. frickin masamune.

There's a little button on the side of each post box that says "Quote" Course you can also just punch in Yeah, i doubt that's what they had in mind when they spoke about Terra. Sounds like she's another fanservice character who will be "Top Tier". They said Cloud was really easy to use, so what does that say. Hell, they branded Garland's fighting ty[e as "Standard Fighter" WTF DOES THAT MEAN!! And i have to agree with reverse Gaia, I have yet to see any swordplay outside of cinimatics on Terra's part. She might be a Magic user only. Also, there is pretty much a 1 percent chance of ever getting a character creation system in Dissidia. I for one am actually kind of glad for this. It worked well n Soul Calibur, but the story and characters in this game need to be kept pure, without any white haired versions of Cloud running around. I could however forsee an equipment customisation menue for each character.

Yes, i agree with Garland that with the revelation of the midget all chances of a character creator were thrown out the window.
Reverse Gaia, thank you for being a voice of reason in my absence. Just because characters are easy to use does not mean that they will be the best. In case you didn't notice, there is also the comment that Exdeath will be one of the harder characters t use but when mastered could be the best. Generally there will always be some characters that require more skill to maneuver but once mastered can beat even the easily handled characters. So while we will indeed see many Sephies, Clouds, Terras, Tiduses, and Squalls running around online, most of them will be worthless when matched against a player skilled in one of the more obscure ones. EDIT: Sorry for all the typos in this post. I was typing in the dark without my contacts. I fixed them...
