First official English Site update for The After Years

The previous stand-in site for the english release of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years has been replaced by the begining of what appears to be a much slicker official one.

Here you can receive a refreshing rundown on the sequel's prologue, the first three sections in the chapters (now renamed as "tales") area, and four of the many to come character profiles; Ceodore, Cecil, Rosa and Kain. Content is sure to be updated frequently, as other unavailable links are noted in grey.

In addition to translated information that many of you probably know already, The game features section also hosts some high quality screen shots of the game ( Square Enix has been fairly secretive when it came to footage of the game from it's Japanese predessors being sent overseas.)

The game will be available for the Wii via WiiWare, and most likely in the similar subscribed downloads that were used in the mobile phone version. It is unknown if the Wii has also done any graphical touchups to the game at this point. Also, expect to see some upcoming trailers in the future.

Oooooooooh, me like! It looks like it has some of the gameplay elements from FFIV DS and some new stuff (which I feel is sorta unnecessary). Other than that, it looks worthwhile to get. Oh hell, who am I kiding, I am going to get this no matter how the gameplay looks. Lets just hope that any new character that is introduced will allow us to play with a BLUE MAGE.

I'm pretty excited about Kain's storyline... I mean, there are so many Kain fanboys out there that he almost contests with Cloud, but i'm a Dark Knight phile, and i find it interesting that the only main series game which actually stars a dark knight has a dragoon that is way more bad ass then the Dark Knight!

Have you played FF IV Advance Raymond? If so, the Lunar Ruins yield an interesting side story to Kain which I think may get dug up again in this. IV DS never had the extra story arcs to my dismay.

Yeah, I played FF IV Adv. Now that you mention it, I do sorta remember something like that in his side story...and how he has to fight Lunar Bahumut all on his own too, which was a pain in the ass for me and I had to use a lunar curtain to cast reflect. -_-#

Yeah, that was an epic Lunar Trial. It yielded some pretty good rewards if you were able to choose correctly I remember; the Dragoon gloves and Abels Lance. Course it was so tempting to just choose "Kill Cecil". xD

I think the GBA version was alot more satisfying then the DS version, but I guess it did hint towards a similar situation when you-know-who kept prying into Kain's mind towards the end, and you could hear his struggling against his will if you bothered reading those little thought bubbles.

Wow, this looks sweet. Great idea to expand the story. The website does have plenty of goods to read. And the background music is great, very calming and soothing. I wish the site would update some more though, I'd like to see the profile for more characters.

And why only for the Wii, it should come out for the DS as well.

If you're impatient about some of the updates to come Vivi, you can always check out the Japanese Mobile phones site. Even though it's in Japanese, you can get a vague feeling on some of the new or "old" characters. There are three new Ninjas from Eblan, along with Edge, with very Japanese names, ( they kind of resemble the antagonist trio of X-2 minus the antagonist part). Theres a scholar class character who works for Edward the Bard, who looks way more awesome then he did in the original. And ofcourse expect to see all the old cast being much older now ( They gave porom some sex appeal -_- ) Best of all you get to play as Luca, the Daughter to Dwarf King Giotte. She's fat and black like queen latifa, and she controles mechanised calcabrinas!

I agree though, the game should be for a portable game system not as some WiiWare download. Atleast Agito learned from this.
