Oh, I played Final Fantasy VII... For about an hour! It's pre rendered backgrounds were so abysmal that it was practically impossible to navigate your way through the slums. I got stuck and that was the end of that. I personally sampled all the PS1 had to offer. But I was a retarded Fetus at the time so I never got far in them. I've been going back to the games recently in their remakes and have owned them ever sisnse. I still have my ROM of VII, but Disks are so unreliable these days I should just wait until the remake.

When your playing VII press select and you can navigate easier. And I never played VII till about a week ago, I saw Advent Children and played Crisis Core so there was a big gap missing. I had to buy it.

Kinda like how the opera house in VI confused me the first time. I couldn' play the Anthology version because I had no Idea you could exit it by going down the side area near the seats. Though VII was way more frustrating because when I would get stuck in an area, there would be either random encounters or a Timer that kept screwing with me.

Yeah, I mean, who puts a timer in the first level, that's just mean. VI didn't get a timer until Vector, and even then it was non fatal, ( or was their a timer in the opera scene too...) and on the floating continant... oh yeah and the burning shack. But never the first level!
Really? Good, it looks like these forums are picking up momentum. ^^

I have a question. I'm sure most of us have downloaded the Dissidia demo and have used all of the characters. And I'm sure most of us have found out that if you use Sephiroth, use black materia, and hold down square, the attack will become enormous. So my question is, how the f**k can people block that? I was fighting Garland and the dude blocked it, please don't say "because he's awesome" because I know that's what your thinking.

Simple really....Because Garland's awesome!

As far As I know, not only black materia but all HP attacks have defense crush, so it could be one of two things:
Either he somehow pulled a Cyclone attack in the nick of time and negated it, or he was in his Exmode, which I think allows him to be "Un-knocked down" I.E. he doesn't flinch, and can block HP attacks perhaps.

Glorious Souls!

I don't know but I almost died. He wasn't in ex-mode so he must've pulled a cyclone and I didn't realise it or something.

I'm not subjigating your preference for Sephiroth, rather i'm inquiring why he stands out above all others for you. How is he different?

Half the Villain cast wants revenge against the world, IMO. And to note, those individuals of the series' villains are fairly bland if you ask me.
Zeromus is the king of mind control, he toyed with not just Golbez' mind, but Kain's as well, as well as several others to achieve his goal, of getting revenge on the humans, he was also an Alien (Sound familliar?). Plenty of arch villains were "Extremely Powerful" For half of the Final Fantasy V, everyone was talking about how "Extremely powerful" Exdeath was. Hell, even Garland was mentioned as being, the "strongest swordsman in Cornelia, and how now one has ever beat him". Sephiroth is just another example, for the first half of the game, all you hear about is how powerful and godly and legendary Sephiroth is. In the end though he's one of the easiest bosses, so I guess unlike some villains, he's all flare with no bite.

Don't shove the wiki down my throat, I've read practically every article, and taking away the poor translation for Final Fantasy VI, Kefka did invent the Heartless Angel move first. Kefka doesn't deserve One-Winged-Angel (Whatever that means) Either meaning that he deserves the title of the one Winged Angel, or the song, doesn't matter. Kefka has Six Wings, and Dancing Mad is a way more epic song than a bunch of people screaming "Sephiros!" over and over again.

Admit it, the one thing that makes Sephiroth better than the rest is that "HE LOOKS COOL". He has that massive sword and that White Hair and that cool outfit... etc. etc... Zeromus might have his mind control abilities and revenge driven plot and then some... but he's ugly. Exdeath might be a way more difficult and powerful boss... But he's ugly. Mateus might of killed more people... But he's ugly. Kefka might have had everything epic about Sephroth and accomplished much more... But he's ugly. They all lack Sephiroth's "Look" and "attitude" (Shallow character traits) So they all fail at Sephiroth's feet!

But if that's the case, then I guess Garland Still wins hands down. In Dissidia he practically waltzed right into Sephiroth's personal blacksmith, and said "Make me a Sword like Cloud and Sephiroth's... But make it better!"

So Garland Wins on looks.
It's not all about Sephiroth's appearance, it's about who he is. Like I said before, I don't care how much any other FF villain before Sephiroth accomplished, it does not make them the best in the world. Yes, those villains were to have said to become extremely powerful as well, but only ONE of those villains kept returning, and I found Sephiroth's backstory to be quite an interesting one. Also, he was not an easy final boss either. It took me like 9 tries to finally beat him because right at the beginning, I used KOTR, then Meteor spells. With Kefka, it only took me one try to watch his purple clowny self disintegrate into pieces. IMO, I think Dancing Mad lasts way too long. In 17 minutes, I can bake a cake, brush my teeth, take out the garbage, visit my friends house, and have a pizza. Mama mia! And yes Kefka doesn't deserve a masterpiece like One-Winged Angel. He's so gangster, they even let the choir say his own name in the song. And Super Nova is scary, as well. He destroys the planets with a comet which heads towards the Sun causing it to expand towards the Earth to blast their HP almost all the way, also causing status ailments. Tell me you wouldn't be afraid if the freaking Sun was going to burn the Earth into bits.

This is why debating fairly with a FFVII rabid fanboy can be very irritating and annoying.

Dancing Madly and Terra's theme are the number most downloaded FF songs and remixed, sung and played FF songs at the moment and have been since 1995. 20 minutes is perfect, because the battle usually last 20 minutes. Unlike Sephiroths that lasts 12 minutes for me.

Wow, that took a lot to say. You're right! Kefka doesn't match One-Winged Angel. He matches his Last Judgment piece better, you know, the one with more dangerous meaning than "One-Winged Angel" or " SEPHIROTH" being screamed in Latin, not that I don't love Latin.

Kefak could have his name in a choir because of the system it was contained on. Need I remind you that this was 1993-4 where we had SNES that could barely have voice like inputs? Did you know that was Nobuo(?)'s originally intentioned? To put voice in his song? Instead, they found a way to make him laugh in the game, which took a lot of space away from their project.

More later...me eyes hurt!

Sephiroth is nothing more than an Icon. He has little character development. A boring motive: revenge ( Zande felt betrayed and wanted revenge as well ). If you seriously took 9 tries to beat him I'd be surprised: Final Fantasy VI was an easy game because it first introduced the refined "Over Kill strategies", final fantasy VII was without a doubt easier, since it Took VI's overly powered characters and made VII's even more overly powered, there's not a thing alive that can't survive a properly executed Omnislash.
Oh yeah? I can bake a cake for the Queen of England during Sephiroth's Super Nova Attack, lasts way to long and makes no sense, how can someone destroy a freakin' solar system and fail to kill a party let alone the world!? Which is pretty much the only thing VII introduced to the series: OVERLY LONG AND DRAMATIC SUMMONING AND FINISHING MOVE SEQUENCES.

Really? You like him cause he keeps coming back? Since when? you mean in the Compilation? Well if that's the case, play Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, you will see that a certain Zeromus comes back to haunt the planet as well. Honestly if any other title got a movie sequel, the main villain would find someway of ressurecting themselves, Sephiroth was just coincidential with that.

Sephiroth is Iconic like Ganondorf or Bowser. It's not what they did that made them so well recognised as villains, it's how much money was spent on them in marketing. I'm sure if Kefka became the Final Fantasy Mascot instead, our positions would be reversed.

Also, The PS1 didn't have voice inputs at the time VII was made so it didn't say "Sephiroth" in the lyrics. it just had some "Ahh ahhh ahh" synthesizer sound.

*enraged* ENOUGH YOUR REALLY STARTING TO PISS ME OFF SHUT UP WITH THIS SEPH/KEFKA CONTEST BULL**** GET OVER IT.1. we all know that sephiroth took things from every damn villian so far and he not even that special only thing he has on anyone is swordsman ship and he barely has that 2. Kefka has got something he has gotten from one other is the poisoning a village but its very little he has made himself know for his insanity but isn't all the freaking FF villians insane in want to destroy or bring the means of their plans using force and magical means or etc. insane YES just kefka took to the next level. 3. Cloud was already jack the hell up from the mako poisoning because he's been in the tank along with zack for YEARS and when he got out he saw Zack die in front of him who was his best friend and he sort of looked up to... so yes he was easy to **** with because of that and seph was in the lifestream knew this so to speak and messed with him. 4. in most FF people died II people died,III Warriors of dark died,IV ppl died along with mains,V ppl died plus a main character again,VI you betcha as ppl ****in died,VII how many died shinra, aeris clones and the only damn reason Aerith death was so epic is because it was in a FMV the only goddamn reason DONE NO MORE ARGUING BECAUSE IF THIS KEEPS UP PPL WILL ARGUE ABOUT OTHER VILLAINS AND HOW EPIC THEY ARE

You should look up the lyrics then, and listen to the original song. You'll see what I mean =D.

End for today.
