Final Fantasy XIII PS3 Bundle Planned

I'm very, very, very positive that this was not talked about here...if it was, I'm terribly sorry about it.

Square-Enix personnel confirmed a not very well-secured secret at its Final Fantasy XIII Premiere Party held at the National Museum of Science and Innovation in Odaiba earlier today. Square-Enix President Yoichi Wada proudly spoke about the long journey that FFXIII's development has taken while a big Powerpoint slide with "12 17 2009" was on display above him. The game will launch at a price of 8,800 yen (UPDATE: Which isn't too unusual; earlier in the day, we saw that a new copy of Gears of War 2 commands an 8,100 yen price).

Wada's announcement was then followed by an appearance from current Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. Chairman and Group CEO Kaz Hirai. Hirai spoke of the extensive legacy/relationship that Final Fantasy and PlayStation has shared over the years, and announced that there will be a new FFXIII-specific bundle for the PS3 coming soon. He promised that more details would be coming, and raised a toast in order of the FFXIII development team.

I'm sure everyone expected a PS3 bundle of some sort, especially after the PS3 sales figures have shot through the roof since the slim version was released.

I've mentioned it before a few times, it was also confirmed in video game stores and by a few Sony reps that had also confirmed the PS3 Slim.

Don't worry about it, at least you've looked before posting.

Even though I didn't know that this was announced "ages ago", I wasn't surprised at this. Sony usually does things like this with their consoles when anticipated games come out. I'd say XIII and vsXIII are two of the most anticepated games on the PS3.

Sony must be anticipating the release too, since the PS3 has been failing on the market in comparison with the 360 or Wii so they must be in hope of these games improving their sales rate.

Wait then what's the name of that evil chick with the wavy hair and glasses? I thought she was Serah.

That, Icygate, would be Jihl Nabaat, Lieutenant Colonal of the Sanctum and one of the main antagonists. I.E. the "Female Sephiroth".

The other antagonist, the male in the trailer, is Yaag Rosch, another lieutenant colonal who was Lightning's superior officer. He apparently will be a "recurring antagonist", which is to say much more of a supporting role in villainry, like Seifer, Seymour, The turks, Ultros, etc.

The Japanese site has updated with ALOT of content, if anyone is intrested in checking it out. Unfortunatly the English site is untouched.

News!:

New footage of Final Fantasy XIII has surfaced on YouTube. The footage depicts Serah being surrounded by a strange silver-coloured fluid as Snow reaches out for her. Also seen is Yaag piloting a large, flying machine as he attacks Lightning and co. as they ride in a small airship. Also thrown in for good measure is some new battle footage.

Cool Trailer, is a full version of it released yet? I'm working on a music video with this game and Versus, so I lack a few scenes. You see where this is going.
