I want to give that game another go... So I guess SE isn't going to be making legitimate ports out of the PSX titles? *Sigh* that's too bad, but I may download these if IX will get involved as well.

Well, all of the other PSX games on the PSN have been simple rereleases as well... I think it's safe to say that most, if not all, will have changed nothing . Here's hoping IX will get released, because VIII is kinda meh.

i don't understand Japanese but i think from square site it's 1500 yen
1,500 Japanese Yen = 16.73917 US Dollar

beware it's still Japanese

well i like what square do for old generation fans... for me i think there are some games such as final fantasy which built a standards for RPG genre must be available for all the generations to live this genre to its full aspects..

currently im waiting to confirm a remake for FFVI DS before FFV DS

and i hope when they will announce FFIX for PSN that they will add the smoothing textures ability from PS2 ... the game was magnificent with the smoothing

DS remakes for V and VI are a really bad idea. IV and III for the DS were horrible!

It doesn't look like they're doing much with the PSN releases, Not even on the lines of "Smoothing textures" or even converting them to wide screen. I find it semi- insulting that they would release the original cut of tactics shortly after the PsP was selling remakes of the same game for a modern price. Sure the PsP version had some slow down on animations, but it still surpassed the flaws in the original cut.

i didnt play FFVII but all the friends told me it fitted well at LCD with HDMI cable...
but sure FFVII port isn't enough to judge cause it'd the lowest graphics power..

about the smoothing it's just a wish after all, but with graphics like FFVIII it would be easy to add some improvement if they could and the last chance if they're up to is FFIX port

about FFIII & FFIV remakes for DS , i played the original FFIII on NES with fans localization too much... and for sure i played DS remake...
the impression was good but nothing like NES ver. but it's a good chance to play an official remake ..

FFIV remake yet to play it, but i played PSX port ..

im really waiting for FFVI remake cause i wanted to see what impression would we have at that time... on the other side im just upset that they'r done with dragon quest ports for DS, and i dont see a problem if they complete FF remakes

FF tactics im not into it at all tho it's available as new at 15$

lets wait and see cause i dont think that we will see this whirlpool of ports and remakes for the rest of our lives -at least with FF and DQ series-

FFVI remake with the SNES script and esper names, with the GBA side quests (the 4 extra espers and extra cave.)+ ds = win?

FF III for the DS was great cause there was no other way westerners could play it unless they imported the original NES version from Japan or had an emulator. I thought the art style fit FF III perfectly. My only complaint was that they didn't make use of the top screen enough.

FF IV was worse. It was too cramped in that little DS cartridge, and the graphic style did not suit it.

I really hoped they would convert FF VII and FF VIII to widescreen for the PSP ports. Heck, I've seen the custom firmware PSPs play FFVIII on widescreen somehow. It will feel odd having the black pillars on either side of the gameplay, but I'm glad they've left the original game alone otherwise, I want to play it like I remember.

Nope, sorry, the answer was FF VI remake with the GBA script and esper names and sidequests, plus more side quests and bonus content+ PsP or Ps3=win. The DS cannot compare to the epicness of the GBA, it's like after Disney got slicker it also got more censored.

In fact we could of got FF III for the GBA in 16-24 bit retro graphics, but Wonderswan canceled the damn project. >=<

But why cut out, "Son of a Submariner"?! One of my favorite Kefka lines.

Because despite the fact Ted Woosley had some great one liners, he did not understand the characters, so Locke stating to "Rip someones lungs out" which was a complete change of character in one instance for his part, makes the script appear jaggedy overall, the GBA kept alot of his stuff in, just the ones that wouldn't compromise the story.
Also why would you want the SNES esper names? They were just a mishmash of random non refferable letters! There was no "nostalgia" to any of that.

I can remember a lot of those easier then the new names... guess i'm too old fashioned.... or it could be from where I played the SNES version like crazy till the GBA version came out.

just a theory..
each last installment of final fantasy on each console would be the finest but the most underrated part of the series..

FFIII JAP only until recently remake on DS, but i think no one could feel its greatness unless they played the original NES one way or another

FFVI i think it lived the glory and that resembles on the people which are asking for remake

FFIX the most underrated and finest oart on PSX , but they most didnt like the ogiginal fantasia and yo****ika amano's art, so it was for die hard fans of the old final fantasy -not nomura's fantasy-

FFXII tho it scored 40\40 at famitsu and got the best new battle standard face a lot of critics for the system and the world design -_-

thank god the only final fantasy available for now is for nomura , so no one can complain on trivial things

i dont hate nomura's fantasy but im so into amano's golden fantasy days <3

Too bad they won't do this for FFVI, FFV, or FFIV. >.<

If I had money, I'd totally download it. Not that I don't already own it.
